Interesting Read
I am a forty year meditator. It was interesting and fun to compare HIS experience to my truth.....to see the limitations in his awareness and interpretation of the process of Attainment.

Intimations of Dzogchen nonmeditation
When it comes to Dzogchen Keith Dowman has established himself as one of the leading voices for bringing insights about the nature of mind from a Dzogchen perspective to the West. He has been translating seminal Dzogchen texts for over five decades. This latest book deals with a type of exercise characteristic of Dzogchen known as Semdzin. Semdzins are designed to hold the mind, to literary present to the mind the experience of the Dzogchen view. The great Tibetan scholar Longchenpa wrote a text describing twenty-one short exercises that accomplish this. He divided them into three groups of seven each. The first series creates the state commonly known as calm abiding, the second releases the mind from the habitual attachments that have accumulated over time and the third is for the direct experience of the nature of mind. This little book is good to keep by your meditation cushion and to work through spending time with each of the Semdzins day by day. These are not stages on a path but rather windows into non-dual awareness of pristine primordial awareness. The structure of book provides Keith Dowman's translation of the Semdzins in the order presented by Longchenpa, followed by a short commentary by the great Dzogchen master Namkhai Norbu followed by a longer commentary by Keith. It is a rare event to get this level of instruction in how to realize these seminal exercises.

Straight and to the point, powerful keys for anyone who is ready
I enjoyed this text and can feel it's power just looking at it. Particularly the last of three sections, the mind section -- which has some beautiful text and translation budding with direct insight. If this is for you, you cannot go wrong reading anything by Keith Dowman.
