What a find!
This book is an introduction to 26 different authors. The introductions are very engaging in and of themselves, but this book will lead you to many other good books to read. Even when I already knew the author, I much enjoyed the chapters about them and also learning what other books they had written that I had missed. Even if you never read the other books, the author's carefully chosen excerpts are a delight in and of themselves. And there is a bonus, many other authors that didn't fit in the book are also listed at the end of each chapter. A gold mine.

Great Research on Amazing Women
I have enjoyed this book about different female nature writers going back to earlier centuries to the present. When I bought it, I thought it would have a chapter story from each author but it didn't - just snippets of what they had written. Instead, the author goes to their stomping grounds and writes about their life and puts a listing of each women's work. I will use those lists to buy future books by those individual authors.

Natural History Women Authors
This is a wonderful book for an overview on Women Natural History Authors. The author presents short snippets of their writings, a biography and other writers who wrote about similar topics. Some will be familiar and some deserve to be discovered again. It makes a great starting point to read more by and about these women. Enjoy

Beautifully written, gorgeously presented, and completely fascinating
A truly fantastic book! Can't recommend it highly enough!Read it because:- It's gorgeously written.- It's fascinating.- It's an absolute must for anyone who loves nature, writing, and/or nature writing.- It turns the nature-writing spotlight away from rich white men, and highlights centuries of truly fantastic but under-acknowledged work by women (especially WOC).- The book feels, looks, and smells just beautiful. With its fabulous illustrations and quality printing, it's a work of art in more than one way (definitely get the physical version, not the ebook version!).

Beautiful, well-written book
This is a well-written and researched book about women who have been excluded from history books, their lives, hobbies and writing. There were mentions of other women so the reader can find out more about them if they want. The only drawback for me was the author inserting her opinions and her attempts to find an extremely tenuous link between her the women she is writing about.
