DechraEicosaDerm Omega 3 Liquid for Dogs & Cats (32oz) - Nutritional Fatty Acid Supplement (1810056)

This product was recommended by my veterinarian. It has improved my dog’s coat enormously. However, the bottle leaks from the cap over time, the product smells horrible and the price keeps going up BUT it’s an excellent product and I will keep using it.

I think I've done a similar review in the past. First of all, there's too much liquid in a new bottle. Do not put the pump into the bottle until you have drained a little out. I've used this product for years and it seems great for my dog. Anyway, I drain some of the new bottle into my old, almost empty bottle, then put the new pump in the new bottle. The second trick is to fold a paper towel several times until it's about 3" tall. Wrap the long part of the folded towel very tightly around the bottle between the pump and the bottle, then secure with a sturdy rubber band wrapped around the paper towel several times. This method lets the leaky bottle/pump liquid be absorbed into the paper towel.

My dog is a fussy eater. I put this on her dry dog food and she loved it.

The products works SO well but this is what the bottle looks like months after using. All I do is pump it once. It spilled all over the floor it was placed at and the fish smell is there too.Really wish they’d fix this because it’s a Freya product!

Our older dog, Rufus, scratched all of the time and we tried so many different things to try and give him some relief from the itching, but nothing seemed to work. Then, my sister told me she used Dechra EicosaDerm Omega 3 Liquid for her dog, it worked and he liked the taste. I was a bit hesitant because we had already tried fish oil and it did nothing, but I decided to give it a try. I got it and and tried it. Rufus likes the taste, and it took about 4-6 weeks before we saw any results, but he has literally stopped scratching completely. I buy the larger bottle. Rufus likes the taste and I just put 3 shirts on his food one time per day. It does smell like fish oil, and you will need to wash the food dish regularly because it sticks to the dish. We switched to a metal dish because it is easier to clean. This is a product that actually does what it says it will do and it is definitely worth a try to give your pet some relief.

The first time I ordered this, it came without a spray pump or squirt pump. Ok, I thought, I'll just deal with it. So, I added it to the dog food with a 1/4 teaspoon measuring spoon. Messy, very messy, and sticky but I figured next time I'd probably get one with a pump.So, guess what? The next one came with a pump! A BROKEN pump. AND the bottle was filled too high so that when I did insert the pump, the liquid overflowed making - you guessed it - a real mess.Ok, I got the pump to work... sort of. It's kind of cock-eyed but it does seem to work... for now.Now the most recent one I got, the pump works, but the stuff leaks out of the top and also coats the outside of the bottle. I keep it on a folded paper towel otherwise it would run all over the place.Surely, I can't be the only one unlucky enough to have constant pump problems.BUT the stuff itself? Actually, pretty good. Cleared up my dog's "dandruff" within a couple of weeks.

This product was recommended by my vet after discussing health maintenance of my pet. Administration of supplement is definitely a plus.
