Totally worth it. Packs a great punch!
This is a great little nightlight/sound machine! Picked it out in a hurry at the hospital after my daughter was born because I realized we forgot to get one (second kid problems!), so I didn’t have time to do much of any research. The Amazon truck beat us to our house the day we came home, and I was able to set it up in time for bedtime (not that anyone sleeps with a newborn... am I right?) We’re over two months in and we have gotten a lot of use out of this machine. It is GREAT. It stays on pretty much 24/7 - partly because I forget to turn it off, partly so I know I can walk into the bedroom and my baby will calm down. When she’s fussy, she almost immediately settles down when she hears the white noise. It also helps her sleep though the night - us too, because it masks some of the sounds she makes as she sleeps. Pros: - Ridiculously easy to operate. I love that I can set the light color, brightness, sound, and volume once and not mess with it again/reset it. I can turn it off, unplug and change rooms, etc and it has always come back to the last ‘played’ settings. - Versatility! Endless options for how to set it up. With the light and sound, you can choose to use one or both at the same time. Timer or continuous. Tons of sound options, too! - Perfect for babies/nursery. The buttons don’t make any unnecessary clicks or sounds and there aren’t bright LED lights for the buttons like we’ve experienced with other machines and monitors. Cons: - With how we currently have it set up, it’s on my night stand as baby is sleeping next to our bed. I wanted the sound directed toward baby, so the night light ends up facing me. It’s the design, so I get it. I want it light enough that I can see what I’m doing during those 3am breastfeeding sessions without having to turn on extra lights and wake my husband or the baby. If I moved it across the room I’m sure it would fix the problem, but just wanted to note you may have to block it with something if you have a similar setup to me. - I can’t remember all the functions without referring back to the manual. You can hold down the buttons to make them do particular things but I just can’t recall what/how/why. Since I don’t really change anything on it, it isn’t a big deal for now. When my 3-year-old gets her hands on it and changes the settings I like, I’ll be in trouble. We’ll face that when the time comes! Overall, I love this machine and the price is great. Looking forward to using this for a long, long time! I have a feeling I will miss the white noise when it gets moved to the nursery when the baby starts sleeping in her crib, so I may have to get another one to keep in my room!

Nice Sound!
I've tried several different white noise machines and this one is my favorite. I originally bought the solid colored version and liked it, but then I decided to try the "Night Light" version and liked it even more. The two versions are almost identical, have the exact same sounds, but the night light version replaces the two "forward" and "reverse" buttons with the light control buttons. So if you want to change white noise sounds, you keep pressing the white noise button to find the white noise sound you want. On the colored version, you press the white noise button once and then cycle through the white noise sounds with the "forward" and "reverse" buttons. Here's why the night light version is superior to the solid color version: 1. It has an adjustable (color and brightness) night light. 2. It always remembers which fan, white noise, and music selection you picked even if you lose power or switch between sound categories. The solid colored version only remembers the last sound you picked. It loses it's memory as soon as you change sound categories. 3. When the night light is off, the night light version looks like a solid white colored version. 4. For some reason the night light version is cheaper. The main reason why I like these Reacher R2 white noise machines is because of the quality of brown noise they create. It has a nice deep tone to it. All the other white noise machines I tried had higher pitched white noise that I found unpleasant to listen to. I also like the train sound on the Reacher R2. I listen to it while I work. It makes me feel like I'm on a train ride. The only downside of the Reacher R2 for me is that it doesn't come back on by itself after a power outage. So you can't connect it to a smart plug and schedule it to come on at 11pm every night. Some (but not all) of the other white noise machines would come back on automatically after a power outage. Other than that, I really like the Reacher R2. Oh, and the Reacher R2 uses less than 1/2 watt with the night light off. Add 1/2 watt to 1 watt for the nightlight. This is much less than the 18 watts used by our "mechanical fan" white noise machines or the 60 watts used by our fan. ADDITIONALLY: I noticed some people complained that their Reacher R2 unit quit working. We bought several of these and did have one that wouldn't make any noise anymore. I did a factory reset of the unit by holding the "timer" button for 5 seconds and it resolved the issue for us. I also noticed some reviews mentioning their power plug melting. All those reviews appear to be for the older model that had a USB power input on the back of the unit. All of ours only have a round power input port on it, so hopefully that issue has been fixed going forward.

LOVE IT!
Had to give the person who designed this some credit! I've never used a sound machine that I can recall in the past. I'm a light sleeper (ever since I had my children and they are grown now). I slept with only a fan for white noise for at least 15 if not 20 yrs! I took a nap with this on only and I slept so sound! First night trying it, I slept 3 hours straight like a baby 'til my hubby came home from a late shift and kissed me to let me know he was home! I think there is something to having some calming sounds to calm the mind; I thought it was improving the air quality in our bedroom and my husband said he that he figured it just calmed my head to the point I slept great! I was even happier driving today; many times I wanted to chew up some of the drivers in FL and spit them out, LOL, but today, I was a peaceful pup! The colors are pretty; I kind of dig the florescent looking pink one and purple and from my active duty Air Force years I dig the AF blue I call it! The fav sound for me is nature sounds and the water sound like it's raining. I could use a little louder sound if I were to use the white noise but just personal preference. I would certainly order one again and I plan to take it traveling in the future! :) Love it!

Exceeded expectations
Personally I’ve tried the Hatch Rest+, yogasleep hushh portable, Adaptive sound Technologies lectrofan Kinder, and this rRacher R2 white noise machine. The hatch is great but expensive. We didn’t use the functions enough to be worth the cost (and since I’m on a mesh network, I found the audio monitor wouldn’t work since I can’t force my phone to the 2.4ghz network). The yogasleep we use all the time in the car and on the go. I do recommend that but not as your nursery white noise item since you’d have to recharge constantly (and it might stop in the middle of the night). The kinder was just ok. I wanted to try it due to the high fidelity sound …which was clear, but I just felt the volume wouldn’t go high enough, especially if it had to be at a plug in the wall (else you need an extension cord). Additionally the app- as others have mentioned- was quite clunky and didn’t always connect. If I were going for needed something I can control through mobile, I’d say just get the rest (or buy a used one). I really just needed something low tech that would be on all night for 12 hrs. In the end the Reacher R2 was better both in terms of sound volume, simplicity, and convenience (with a cord, I could place it closer to the crib vs at the wall plug). We actually ended up using it a lot more than I expected with us using the little lullaby sounds too to just soothe our son and cue him to starting to wind down. I even brought it with us to Disneyland weekend trip for the nights. It’s small enough that you won’t mind bringing it and the chord. The fact that it’s low tech with multiple buttons for types of noise (eg one for white noise and one for lullaby sounds) means I can easy switch between the two without too much cycling. Each button cycles through its type of sounds individually but also plays a ding when it’s reset to the beginning of the list. Honestly, if you are wanting something simple at home or just not as pretty a penny as the hatch rest, I’d say try this out! You’ll be pleasantly surprised!

Great sound, great customer service, no battery backup
I love the variety of sounds (and lights, though I don’t use the light much), and that you don’t have to click through all the sounds to get back to one. There are 3 buttons for categories of sounds (fan, “music”, and white/other noise) and each has several options. It also remembers the sound you had it on each time you turn it back on or switch between buttons. I LOVE how loud the volume goes, since I use one of the fan sounds as white noise in my infant’s room. It’s hard to find machines that make a loud enough noise to block out sounds and soothe. I did have a problem where the machine suddenly stopped working then worked but the sound was going in and out. I reached out to the manufacturer and they were very quick to reply and helped me by sending a new machine right away. It didn’t take long to get. Fortunately, I had a back up machine to use in the meantime. I find it helpful to have at least one backup, since it can be very frustrating if you use it for your baby/kid and it suddenly goes out. I’ve had it happen in the past with other brands. The only drawback I found so far with this one is that there is no battery backup, so I have another machine that does.

Can't beat the price for what you get
I was looking for an expensive sound machine with one very specific requirement. It needed to have Thunderstorm as one of the sounds. This one had good reviews and it had a bunch of sounds I was interested in, so I bought it. The thunderstorm sound is awesome! It's really soothing and with the thin walls in my house, it makes it so I can sleep while someone else is watching tv in just the next room. I've gone through a lot of the sounds and thunderstorm is the only one I can sleep to because the repeat que is hidden so well. The other sounds are great for when I'm trying to focus on work and need some background noise but they do have easier to identify repeat patterns. Giving it 5 starts because it's exactly what I wanted and needed, but your mileage may vary. I also bought a second one that was the one with a nightlight specifically for my nephew and his two little kids. They were in the market for a sound machine with various white noise options and they really loved getting this for Christmas! This kids also enjoy getting to change the color of the nightlight each night.

Love love love!
Just taking it out of the box and turning it on i was impressed. The loght is great. I love how its not directed at the person so its not like a bright night light in your face at night. I love that the speaker is upright so the sound is more directed and heard more clearly. The sound options are great. The waves actually sound like waves and not some fake ones that just basically sound like white noise fading in and out. The thunderstorm one is also great. The rain doesnt sound like static from an old tv like many others we've tried. I got this specifically for my son whos not an easy sleeper and he wakes up the second the baby sound machines turn off so wanted to upgrade his nightlight and sound machine. I have to say that im more than likely going to buy another for our room once my son if fully transitioned to his room bc i love this machine so much. And then we will more than likely buy another for our future baby to just already have especially since some of the sounds are lullabies and maternal sounds like heart beat. This machine also looks good and feels like good quality. The sound can get very loud also if you're needing something to help drown out other sounds. Only thing would be nice is to be able to adjust the brightness on the light instead of the pulsing light. I dont see the point in that and being able to dim or brighten it to a specific setting would be better but oh well. Its still great. Highlt recommend for any parents for their kids or any adult for themself

The best noise machine night light I ever did see
Seriously this is the best noise machine. Has the right amount of sound settings and white noise levels. All the volume settings. All the dimness and brightness spectrum. Good colour choices. You can press the buttons one handed and the device doesn't slide. Only thing is it's hard to see the buttons in dim light but you memorize them quite fast. Will be buying another one for my 3 year old. I'm currently using this one for my 4 mo the old in our room. I find it helps me sleep too. You won't regret buying this.

Good product
It helps from all noises around apartment flat. It dulls down noises around. At full volume it completely drowns outside noises and have a good sleep.

Great sound
After using other devices for white noise, I was very impressed with the sound quality of this product. The night light is quite helpful when you want some soft lighting too.
