Love love LOVE this product! It does not help with pain relief, but it does help with anxiety and sleep. The pills are somewhat large, but nothing out of the ordinary. The taste is not noticeable, nor is the smell. Ingredients are as listed on the package and they work well.

Caveat, Valerian Root does not have a lovely scent or flavor. Chuck it in your mouth & get it swallowed. Once you learn how well it works, you won't care! Still, don't linger with it in your mouth! Also, SUPER IMPRESSED how small the capsule is & what a punch it packs!Valerian Root is part of my sleep regimen. I've tried several brands. For many years I used basic, super inexpensive ones. I have severe PTSD & always had trouble with nightmares. I did not realize Valerian Root could contribute to that. Until 2020 being 2020 took me to a new level of nightmares. I increased my valerian dosage with extremely bad results. Then eventually learned something I should have known long ago about a product I've ingested for years. Decreased my dosage & adjusted a couple other meds. I realized it was time to search for a brand of higher caliber. I was slightly nervous, slightly skeptical about the mg vs the less is more. However I was already getting good results on that for another herbal & decided to give this a try. I honestly wasn't sure at first. But within about 2 weeks I realized I was definitely getting much improved, less interrupted rest. Toniq's 4:1 concentrated extract is outstanding! It's pure unadulterated goodness! I literally NEVER remember to keep track of a coupon & I have been excited, looking forward to getting another bottle gratis on my disability income ever since I was about 15 capsules in. It was a bottle of 120 so I feel very confident saying it is a valuable asset to my optimum rest and I am absolutely delighted to have found this company! I'm extremely impressed with Toniq, their quality, effectiveness as well as wonderful customer service treat to receive another bottle for a review. While I am thrilled to be able to cross that off my expense list this month, I would have given the same review regardless! Thank you, Toniq for being everything I needed for this product!

My family & I have tried several manufacturer's valerian root products, but Toniq's valerian root is one of the best ones we've tried. As a chronic pain sufferer, that is extremely helpful. My only complaint would be the price. At $0.14 per capsule, it is very pricey, especially when you consider almost all other manufacturer's valerian root average is under $0.10 per capsule. No doubt, it is a great product, but as a family who takes valerian root regularly (I take it multiple times per day regularly), the cost can add up quite quickly. Our family members takes a total of 15 pills a day. That's $2.10 per day for all of us ($0.14 × 15 capsules = $2.10) or close to $63 per month ($2.10 × 30 = 63). To put things in perspective, if we used the equivalent total daily milligram amount of valerian root (1,300mg × 15 capsules = 19,500 mg per day) of another manufacturer's valerian root (19,500mg ÷ 1,200 mg = 16.25 capsules per day) at $0.10 per capsule (16.25 capsules × $0.10 = $1.63 per day), it comes to $1.63 per day or $48.90 per month. ($1.63 ×30 = $48.90 per momth). That's a staggering $14.10 difference. In the future, we may be forced to change to a different manufacturer's product, because, money can be tight most months with my med bills. So we won't be able to afford it at times. No one likes having to change from a great product you really like to a product that works, but isn't great, just because money is tight. With the pandemic though, money is tight for most people. Please consider lowering the price, even temporarily.

I bought this because of the great reviews and so I didn't have to taste the liquid valerian root I was using from the Now brand and was hoping it would work the same and help me stay asleep all night, but for me it didn't.As far as taste goes for this product, I hardly tasted it because I swallowed quickly but the smell is strong and reminds me of stinky feet so I made sure to put the lid back on quickly and wash my hands after handling it. Yes the smell is that strong! Had it worked by helping me stay asleep like the first brand (Now) I tried, I could have looked past this.The first night I took one capsule around 9pm and woke up feeling super drugged and heavy all over to the extreme! Like, it was hard to lift my arms or sit up on my own and I was so tired throughout the day. So I used a scale and my own empty capsules to split one pill into two equal half doses. I did this until I had 4 half doses and tried that out for the next 4 nights. It didn't help me fall asleep and I was still waking up 4-5x during the night.I assumed that by splitting the dose, it wasn't strong enough so I went back to taking the full regular dose but tried taking it earlier in the evening to counter the morning grogginess. I tried 9pm for several nights in a row for consistency, then 8pm, 7pm, etc and did this for about a week. I even took it as early as 5pm and never got drousy in the evenings but still woke up several times during the night and felt drowsy the next day every time.The longer I took the full dose, the more groggy I felt the next day. Like its building up in my system and the effects are lasting longer throughout the day, but it's not helping me sleep. So I'm really sad that it didn't work for me but I'm done feeling like this and will return it.

Works great

The best and most effective valerian supplement I’ve found. Yes it smells like valerian, valerian isn’t supposed to smell great. That’s how you know it isn’t diluted with a bunch of fillers. Other brands I’ve tried are mostly rice husks and fillers, this stuff is great and a good deal for the quality. 10/10 would recommend. I noticed an improvement in sleep and relaxation already. Also a general mood enhancement. If you’re looking for a quality valerian root supplement, this is it.
