My cat scratched the same thing all the way through! On both sides!This is a very good quality scratching post, so it took my cat a while to destroy it. I really like that there are two of them! I put them in different places, and my cat uses them both. They are quite light, but durable. They will last a long time. And they are quite functional: the cat can also sleep on them.The size and height are suitable for both large (one of my cats is a Maine Coon) and small (as in the photo) cats.

Most importantly, the cats love this! Have 2 cats and for a long time each would sit on a piece near each other and sleep and look out the glass door. They loved it so much I decided to get each of them a set so they could be "taller" and look out the door.My cats adore this "furniture" . :) It's like their sectional sofa or something. It's definitely their happy place!! The other day one of the cats was so stressed out from itching (she has allergies) that I opened a new one and she immediately forgot her distress. She sharpened her claws, jumped from one piece to another, laid down and went to sleep.I love that it looks a lot nicer than the typical flat cardboard cat scratchers I used to buy. And even though it's kind of on the pricey side, the first one is still usable that I bought a year ago although it leaves a lot more shreds nowadays to vacuum up. :)All in all I am 100% satisfied with this purchase as are my cats. Good quality, decent looking for what they are, plenty long and wide enough for most any cat (one of mine is part Abyssinian so a very long cat). They also have fun playing with the hole below where they usually perch on the biggest piece.My one cat also uses it to scratch her head, neck, and face on. She loves rolling around on it. They like it best with the small piece on the bottom and the bigger piece on the top. Just have to make sure it's lined up well so when they launch off of it they don't topple the larger one. It's even entertaining for this owner to watch how much fun my older cats have playing on it. And they would much rather sharpen claws on this scratching post than any of the furniture - which is certainly the best of all!

Not as solid as one purchased from another company, but 25% cheaper and sturdy enough for my 14 lb. beast. She loves it and scratches it every day. Also, came with the donut and the hole.

Seems to be a slightly nicer quality of cardboard than the standard rectangular flat scratchers. My cat personally lays and scratches the interior/smaller part more. We primarily use the exterior/larger to drag wand toys across during play time.The aesthetics are nice and seems to be well made. Not sure what the difference between the original 2 in 1 and the upgraded version. Wish the product listing was more clear.

My cat LOVES this scratcher. It has two pieces and you can turn it so there are multiple sides to scratch on. He also lays on and sits on it. Great value!

I gave this as a gift to friends with 2 cats. Both cats took to it immediately, with one hogging the box and excluding the other from sitting in it, LOL. It's very sturdy and super cute. If your cat likes cardboard (what cat doesn't?), this is a great lounger/scratcher that should last a long time.
