Important revelations
As a staunch individualist, I was somewhat skeptical of the initial premise of the book, that minds do not only consist of the inner workings of the brain and nervous system but also the relationships they form with other minds in what the author calls interpersonal neurobiology. Yet, despite not fully understanding all the neuroscience discussed, it is difficult to disagree with his conclusions about integration within minds and between them, including the nature of consciousness as an evolutionary means of differentiating between reality and representation in the mind. If logically extrapolated to the furthest degree, the conclusions of The Developing Mind have potentially vast implications for our species, ones that I think would make most people quite intimidated and uncomfortable.

Incredible book everyone should read
This is a book that takes time to review. But given that time, every moment spent reading it will be a worthwhile endeavor in understanding everything from human development, to how to harness the best version of oneself. As a textbook, this book contains thousands of peer reviewed references and makes the material highly digestible. I strongly urge people to take the time and review and judge it for yourself! You will not be disappointed, you may just need a Highlighter!

Incredibly important book
This is the best psychology book I have ever read and I have read many. I had to read a chapter or two at a time and take time to process. I gave a copy to a friend who is a new therapist. Wish I had it early in my career.

Scientific level.
Good book from scientific point of view.Practice not as promised much more theory.Too much repetition and few practice in 500 pages.Hard to read. Very few graphics and too much writingRigid. No recommended from this point of view. This book deserves much more explanation by schemes and graphics

Fancy Words
Lots of big words which often seem not to communicate much at all. And lots of caveats. The story of the Emperor's new clothes comes to mind for me because of all the praise this book has garnered. Perhaps an article would have sufficed for me.

The page display is completely out of order! And I called numerous times and they never fix it.
The page display is completely erroneous. As a reader U won't know what the exact page U are on. I called numerous times over the couple of years, and Amazon is dodging the responsibility on this. Amazon try to blame the publisher. But I called the publisher, and the publisher checked and said it is not their end of the problem. Amazon's department responsible for this SHOULD TAKE Full responsibility to work this out no matter where the problem is. They kick it back for me as a customer to call the publisher is dodging their responsibility, utterly unprofessional!

Absolutely brilliant book! A must read!
Consciousness and a solid understanding and explanation of what it is and how we experience it is still very much under investigation. Dr. Siegel provides an in-depth neuropsychological view on how the brain develops with a genius thesis on the nature of consciousness. No spoiler alert here…you gotta read it for yourself. I absolutely loved it!
