Sand it down lightly, scrub off the moss and algae and simply slap it on. Don't aim for perfection - you won't get it and it will still have to be done again next year ... no matter how careful you are. It will last - or it should - last a year but you will see it flaking as winter progresses and patches will need to be redone. I wish there was something other than plastic decking that actually lasts and doesn't cost the earth. There isn't and this is the best I've found in 8 years of trying. This has great colour and leaves a stunning effect ... for just about a year.

After a slip in garden on my decking I had to do something netting was thought about but then you have to take it up to clean so went for this option glad I did You cannot tell it’s none slip till it drys so be patient I found it to be very good lots see how it lasts
