Tracheostomy Dressing 5 Pack Pads G/J Tube 3 1/2 by 3 1/2

The only reason I can think of as to why someone would give these trach/g-tube dressings a lower than five star rating, is because they don't know what they are used for. Anyone using split gauze for their trach or g-tube for any length of time, knows that split gauze, while it does the job it's intended for, it moves around, looks unclean relatively quick and when it shifts positions, the pressure from the trach or g-tube can become very uncomfortable, even cause irritation or injury to the skin around the stoma. These little dressing packs are colorful, very comfortable when placed properly, washable therefore reusable and stay in their intended place. If someone feels that they draw unwanted attention to the area, it's only because no one would say anything about a split gauze because they are unsightly, whereas, these are delightful in appearance and they function wonderfully. Split gauze or these, they are both noticed equally, one just looks far better, thus may get a comment or two. Sure, they seem rather costly compared to split gauze, but considering you can wash and reuse these many times, they are fairly cost effective. I would imagine that the creator of these has had some personal experience using split gauze and wished for and designed these as an alternative, and they did a great job. It's been well over a year since my original order and I am just now getting around to order more. They are simply built well and last a long time, all while helping the user feel and look better and more comfortable in their situation. I am a guy, and when I first bought them for my wife, I had to think outside the box on how to keep them clean and looking nice for my wife, so I also bought one of those little bags that women use to wash their hose in the washer because as small as these are I was afraid they would be lost in the washer or dryer... that little bag did the trick and I haven't lost a single one. If you or a loved one have a trach or g-tube, even if it is for a short time, give yourself or them a treat and try these, I am sure you will be very happy and definitely more comfortable, or at least as happy as one can be in that type of situation. I love knowing that while wearing one of these, my wife is more comfortable and protected against further injury and she looks great. I still use a split gauze behind this dressing and I can tell my wife is far more comfortable and her skin is far more protected when these are in place. I can't wait until she no longer needs these types of things, but I will definitely promote them when possible because folks in similar situations as my wife know, that there are very few things that are made to help you keep your dignity and help them actually feel good about yourself during a harsh medical period in their life. To the creator or distributor... thank you so much for taking the time to help those through a very difficult time in their life!! We need more people like you in this world!
