This is a really good heavy-duty corer that is built to do the job. I really like the size and the larger handles on either side that make it easy to grab and push down to use.I had no problems with the apple corer. I had large apples and it worked beautifully. I like that it used most of the apple and leaves a small core. It did an excellent job.No such luck on the mango. My problem was I had a really ripe mango and it pretty much left me with the skin, the insides mush and the core in the center of all of this mess. There wasn’t anything for me to pull off the skin and cut up. I think it will work fine on a mango that isn’t so ripe.This is dishwasher safe and I threw it in and it came out sparkling clean so cleanup was great. It’s made out of stainless steel, BPA free so it’s non-toxic.Right now I am just deducting one star from my review but if I see it won’t cut a mango to my satisfaction I will deduct another star. But, I love the apple corer and it works beautifully.Also have an issue with no instructions on how to switch the blades out. If one of the reviewers hadn’t told how to do it I don’t know if I’d have ever figured it out. For those of us who have arthritis, sellers please do us the favor of telling us how to use your products because trial and error can hurt or damage our hands. I don’t have as much strength in my hands anymore and I pushed and pulled on the blades trying to get it to come out. I finally gave up because I was afraid I was going to slip and cut my fingers. You don’t want your customers to cut their hands or fingers trying to figure out how to use your product!

I really wanted to love this. It's such a great design, and a really great deal with the Apple slicer included, even though I personally didn't need it since I have one already but I probably would have used that more than my slicer I have already.The pros: The handles. They are nice and tall and give you plenty of space for the knuckles. I've hit my knuckles so many times on the cutting board with my apple slicer that this was a big thing I was looking for when I got this.Now the cons which unfortunately outweighed the pros. The blade on this is not the greatest. If it were serrated this would be the perfect tool. Since the blade is so weak and is flat, it squashed a lot of my mangos when trying to slice them. And the mangos were not over ripe, they were perfect mangos. There were some that I couldn't get to push through the flesh, I had to take a knife and make a score into the flesh to get it to go through, which by then I could have cut the whole thing by hand. Then a few times the mango slicing disk would pull out of the handles when getting to the end and trying to pull the core out. It needs to lock better but that really wasn't as big of a deal as it was to slice.So I'm returning it and trying something else.Update: This company did reach out to me which I do appreciate that they care for their customers and want to find ways to improve their product. For that I will add one more star b/c I did appreciate their customer service. However I am not going to purchase a new one mainly b/c I had purchased a different one after I returned this one, which I like so far and have no issues w/ so I do not need a second one. And also nothing has changed on this design. As I stated, I think if the blade were serrated it really would be great.

I was unsure about purchasing one of these, but due to physical and health problems, I had to try this item out. I am glad I did buy it as it is so easy to use and does a rather great job of coring and slicing apples and pears, plus another blade that snaps into place real well, for coring and seeding a Mango and will actually also work on pitting prunes and peaches. This unit is very well built, is made of strong-thick molded plastic and the cutters are of stainless steel. You get the large handled support that one of two coring and slicing blades take care of. Simply pry back on the plastic clips and the blade drops out for easy washing or swapping of the blades.I am rather impressed with its strong supporting design of molded plastic framing and handles. Some are junky thin plastic that snap and/or break on you when barely using it. The handles are very easy to grip even when covered with apple and or one of the fruit juices that you are using to core and slice. The grips are nice soft rubber. Very easy for arthritic and several other health or physical handling issues, for a fast treat of sliced apples that also cores them. I am very happy with the purchase from here. Proper cleaning and care will let this implement work for me for many more years.

Great great idea! I have used apple slicers for years and often the apple was too large for the slicer NO MORE this is a substantial slicer and the largest apple cores like a dream. Today I used the mango attachment for the first time. I LOVE mangoes, but cutting them is such a sloppy mess that I frequently pass them up. Well no more, the only "trick" was figuring out what the angle for the pit was mangoes never seem to be evenly formed. The first one I cut got "stuck" and I hit the pit had to rock the slicer some to get it through , the 2nd one I looked closer for the line of the pit and WOW it went through first try and the 2 halves were even and sliced easilyPros sharp large area for big pieces of fruit padded handles for secure grip easy to cleanCons because it is large I have a little difficulty changing blades (had to have hubby help) which is why I gave it 4 stars not 5
