1) FIRST, IT DOES *NOT* WORK WITH RECHARGABLE BATTERIES. Yes, It's in caps for a reason. I have 3 different brands of rechargeable batteries, and none of them work. The unit will not power on. Initially, I thought I got a bad unit and asked Amazon to send me a new one. The 2nd unit wouldn't power on either. But as soon as I popped in standard alkaline batteries, the unit worked.2) Second, The accuracy is a bit questionable. I have an under the tongue unit that will consistently show me at 98.3 - every time. This unit will always show me at 97.7 - 97.9 if I follow the instructions about 5 - 8 cm away. I found that if I place it directly on my forehead, right above my eye, I can pretty consistently get it to match the oral thermometer reading of 98.3.However, that doesn't hold true for my wife. My wife is one of these people where the house is at 74, and her hands are cold. While the oral thermometer will show 98.3 - 98.6 for her, this one always shows her temperature below 98. It doesn't seem to matter where I place it on her forehead.I will note that if I take multiple reading in a for for the exact same spot, the temperature is always within .1 degree of the last reading (assuming touch). Different parts of the forehead definitely give different readings though.

I have invested in lots of high-end name brand rechargeable batteries and use them in every device in my home without issue. I thought I had a DOA unit when this arrived as I could not get it to power on. I wondered if my arsenal of charged batteries had perhaps not been charged full and decided to use some alkaline batteries, and sure enough it works. Fully charged my rechargables to be sure, inserted them... nothing. Unit functions just fine and is fast, it's just a shame they built in an unnecessary voltage minimum into it.

I purchased this around a year ago if not longer and it’s still holding on. It seems to be pretty accurate and it’s held up through my toddler dropping it and throwing it so it’s durable in my book! I do wish the screen settings were a little different. It can be confusing as first but once you get the hang of it you’re good to go.

This non contact thermometer seems to be the most accurate of all my thermometers. I know my normal temp is about 97.5. I used to have an old fashioned glass thermometer (the most accurate according to my doctor) and it consistently measured me at 97-97.5. When it broke suddenly (in my husband’s mouth!!! And he wasn’t putting any pressure on it that he could tell- yikes! But he was fine after he spit out all the mercury. Not recommended!) I decided I needed an accurate digital thermometer. I now have two under the tongue types, an ear thermometer, and this one. My neurologist office recommended this one, and so far it is GREAT. And it is the only one that is consistent in its readings for us. I highly recommend it!

I never knew these existed until everyone started using them during COVID. As you know, you point it at your forehead, pull the trigger, and you instantly get a temperature reading on its large, lit, screen. You don't even need glasses to read it. It's instant, easy, and seems to be accurate. Even better - you can use it to measure the temperature of objects (it has a "non-human" setting"). So you can check if your air conditioner is working by measuring the temperature of the grille, or the temperature of your laptop, water coming out of the faucet, etc. No more putting thermometers under your tongue.

Thermometer delivers on every front! There is a beeping mechanism that allows you to know when the temperature has registered when checking your own temperature. There are three color codes that make it easy to know whether your temperature is high or normal. Green yellow and red for healthy, borderline high and a high temperature. I use this mostly for when I have people inside the house for maintenance or for handiwork and it gives me the peace of mind that everyone who is around me at the times at least does not register a higher than normal temperature. The unit is also very lightweight and portable, the auto shut off feature will prevent the battery from getting accidentally drained as well. A great product and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a touch less thermometer.

It's small and lightweight. I'm very surprised that it has accurate readings in 1-2 seconds. The only thing I really don't like about it is the battery compartment. The way it's made, it's common that it closes wrong and doesn't pick up your batteries. It's as if they're dead, but it happened today with batteries I just bought. Had to close the compartment several times before it worked.
