This item has not functioned properly since I got it. I only attempted to use it once when I went on holiday. The key instructions are worse than useless - they are not even there. How, for example, do you go about removing the lithium ion batteries? The My Carbon leaflet does not tell you. So you are left desperately breaking your nails and breaking the scale when you find yourself unable to remove them and are then driven to unscrewing everything that can be unscrewed. Result; the item does not work because you have damaged it in some way in unscrewing all the parts with screws in them. I threw it away immediately. Message to MyCarbon: include a message in your leaflet telling users that they will require tweezers to remove the lithium ion batteries. Second message to MyCarbon: replace my item, please, or refund my money. It cost me £10.95 on Amazon.

Sadly I will never know if this is as good as others say. It was reduced in price so perhaps it has been in storage for too long... no idea what was wrong but to remove the battery cover nearly broke my fingers. Then once off there was no way the plastic could be slid out to activate the battery. The instructions were minimal... in fact nothing at all to say what to do so I went to google. I was told to push battery down and slide it forwards..... this battery in my unit was stuck FAST! it was going nowhere. Nobody could shift it nor remove the plastic and given that by this time my hands were very sore indeed I surrendered. I returned it as I would never have been able to change the battery in the future. Not fit for purpose... think too old or stored in wrong temp... not sure. The casing is very fine plastic so to exert force could have caused the whole thing to break into pieces so I gave up disappointed.

Not actually purchased for weighing luggage - but is ideal for that and similar purposes. Purchased by me to weigh bottled gas caravan cylinders. The weight of the cylinder will determine the amount of liquid gas remaining in the cylinder - so I do not run out at an inconvenient time. There are other methods which are either expensive or unreliable. This is a cheap and effective solution for caravaners..

Although the item seems a good idea , however not fit for purpose. I purchased this item to travel with to the USA as AA airlines are very strict with their baggage allowance. I found it very difficult to weigh my suitcases as the scale didn't seem sturdy enough to lift the suitcases nor did it give accurate weight. Ok to measure light weight bags indidually but not a suitcase. I wouldn't recommend this item as it is waste of money

The display kept fading as soon as any weight was put onto the hook. A 20kg suitcase caused the handle to creak and the display to flicker - most likely a loose battery or connection. No way would it manage a 40Kg weight or higher. It was sent back straight away for a full refund.Update Nov 2017MYCARBON contacted me offering a replacement and it arrived and functions as expected. My first on must have had a faulty battery connection or bad soldered joint somewhere. Hence, my star rating has been amended accordingly. Great customer support from MYCARBON.

This is an amazing little weighing gadget, I will be taking it on holiday next time for sure, I have been using it to weigh out fishing bait and tackle and it's perfect, supplied with a comfy little soft bag and a screwdriver so you can remove the battery to stop it draining, it has a rare system and from my use it seems to be 100% accurate,highly recommended especially for the price,it's a bargain,This is such a great little set of scales I have purchased another

Lightweight and sturdy. Product is accurate and easy to use. Comes with a storage bag so it is less likely to accident,y switch itself on. It was difficult to get the plastic from behind the battery when it first arrived but it comes with a little screwdriver which meant I wasn’t scrambling around for one.

Works great, used it for a holiday in Majorca and its pretty spot on with the weights. The scales were about 0.2kg out compared with the airport ones but who knows if they are calibrated on a regular basis? All in all I will be using this again in the future and would happily buy one again. Thank you!
