Good Ingredients, Dogs Love It – Worth the Bigger Bag
I have two dogs — one 55 lbs and one just 5 lbs — and surprisingly, they both do really well on this Open Farm Ancient Grains dry food. They seem to genuinely enjoy the taste, and I haven’t had any issues with digestion or pickiness, even from the little one.I chose this food because I was looking for something with better-quality ingredients, and Open Farm checked that box. The ingredient list is solid, and I appreciate the brand’s transparency and sourcing.I’ve purchased both the 22lb and 11lb bags. The larger bag is definitely the better deal if you go through it regularly. Overall, I’m happy with the quality and how my dogs are doing on it — will continue to repurchase.

Great pick with noticeable benefits
I started giving this to my rescue pup almost immediately after we brought him home - fast forward 8 months and he has an incredibly shiny soft coat, strong teeth and tons of playful energy. He loves eating it and it has never given him any digestive issues to note. Definitely a great pick for a puppy kibble.

No Moo-stery Meat Here
I typically just buy from the open farm website but bought here for quick shipping.I’ve been feeding my dog the Open Farm Ancient Grains with grass-fed beef, and so far it’s been a win. The ingredients are super clean, no weird fillers or junk just real beef, whole grains, and fruits and veggies. I love that it’s ethically sourced and you can trace where everything comes from.My dog’s coat looks shinier, her digestion’s been great, and she actually gets excited when it’s mealtime. The kibble smells fresh (for dog food!), and I feel good knowing it’s high in protein and full of good stuff. It’s a bit pricier than grocery store brands, but honestly, the quality makes it worth it. Definitely recommend if you want to feed your dog something

Food is made of good quality
The food is a good quality I'm -1 star because once again my picky dog won't eat it but I don't believe it's the foods issue I believe it's my dogs.

Only the best for the best
I went down the dogfood rabbit hole for about two years and wound up here. My dogs hair grew back, allergies virtually no more, he is a 11 year old medium sized pit mix, iykyk! No vomit, he’s playful again, his hips don’t hurt as bad, I don’t have to constantly wonder if he’s getting the best of the best. When it comes to dry kibble you can relax because you have found the holy grail. Remember sobbing on the way home making a sincere promise to do better for dog? This is it, top of the line kibble, the easiest form of superior, high quality nutrients. I buy the 22lb bag and lasts almost a month. The kibble size could be larger for larger breed dogs I feel, but overall my dog loves the taste and looks forward to eating it as a topper to his food we make to balance the nutrition.

Non-GMO Ingredients are a Win! But the Seed Oils are Not!
If you know how poisonous most kibble is for dogs, Open Farm's Ancient Grains Dry Dog Food, is a breath of fresh air.I appreciate that their dry dog food does NOT contain GMO corn,GMO soy, meat and bone meal, corn gluten meal, chicken byproduct meal, animal digest, artificial colors, preservatives, or fillers.I have been a customer for several years, but I'm stepping back for one key reason:Their formulas include sunflower oil. Sunflower oil is a seed oil. How do you get oil out of a sunflower seed? You have to extract it with hexane, which is contaminated with benzene. The harmful chemicals used during processing—such as hexane extraction, makes it toxic.Seeds oils are absolutely horrible for humans and our fur babies – and high levels are associated with increased inflammation, cancer risk, heart disease, and just about any other chronic ailment.I avoid GMO corn, wheat, soy, meat byproducts, seed oils, and artificial colors and preservatives. So, why would I feed it to my pups?I specifically look for dog food that includes: grass-fed/finished beef, antibiotic and hormon-fre poultry, white fish, salmon, or herring meal (wildcaught), peas, lentils, flaxseed, natural fibers, and whole food protein sources. The seed oils are a non-starter for me.While I appreciate Open Farm's uses 100% traceable ingredients with non-GMO produce, and they explicitly avoid corn, wheat, and soy in their formulas, I cannot feed seed oils to my pups. I hope they will fix this in future formulations.
