Pairs easily. Hard to hear at speed
I was a bit disappointed that this doesn't mount in a Bell Mag9 helmet without ordering the special BellMag9 adapter that is sold out everywhere I looked.I have one on order now.I made a couple phone calls at speed I'm told the sound was crystal clear and they didn't believe I was on my bike. It was a bit hard to hear the call with wind noise even though I have a fairing. This can probably be fixed by adjusting ear pieces with the included foam offsets. They really should make a better installation video. The chick doing it is cool and everything but I'm more interested in getting the clamp mounts in the correct place the first time.

Im kicking myself for not buying this earlier
Too many calls from the wife worried because I have missed several calls and not being able to ride the motorcycle to work if i had a conference call to attend had me looking into the helmet audio systems. I thought about cheaping out but after reading horrible reviews on other generic items, I splurged for the Sena. I was looking at the cheaper model, but HD calling and having a radio tuner built in sold me on this one.Installation was easy, and my helmet having built in speaker pockets in the inserts saved even more time. They supply you with a vast majority of options you would need to install in any helmet. I planned on using the flush mount mic, but since my helmet is modular, i would need a longer cable to properly route the assembly. They do not make a mic extension cable which is a great disappointment. Limiting mounting length over a 10 cent cable is a shame. I used the boom mic for now until I can figure out a solution.Mounting clamp is SOLID, and even the adhesive mounting plate is sturdy as you can ask. Installation goes smoothly even if you haven't installed one before. Phone app is nice, but I had to connect it to the computer and get the software to update the firmware. Not a big deal at all. All settings can be changed from the phone app, including setting radio presets and other options. Speakers get loud, but if they aren't loud enough, change the volume boost option in the app. Speakers seemed a bit crackly at times, but for non-in-ear options, they sound great. I think if i play with the backing support options to get them closer to the ears, they will sound even better and need lower volumes.Calling..... dang.... I was nervous to test a phone call to risk someone yelling they couldn't hear me while i scrambled at speed to hang up or fix it. I called the wife at 70mph in a (lower cost) modular helmet using the boom mic on a vtwin 1100 with aftermarket pipes to make it the worst case scenario possible. First thing she said was "You took the car to town? I thought you were going to take the bike?". I told her I was calling from the bike and she called me a liar. If that sums up audio quality and noise cancelling... She said she could hear me breathing but not the bike mufflers or wind. Only when i took a corner and had a 20mph side wind instead of head wind could she hear any wind noise. It was ripping through my helmet pretty well at the time too.Voice commands to my phone at the touch of a button is nice. What i really like is the big dial on the side for volume. What i hated about earphones was the lack of surrounding noise you get when coming from highway into a town. With the Sena, just turn the dial down and its like you are riding normally without audio. HD radio is nice too.I have not used it for intercom, but hope to soon. My cousins family is big into motorcycles, and his dad owns the Sena system. When i told him all the features and how it sounds he said "thats it, im doing it." and put one on order.Clamping the unit to the mount is solid and easy, clicks right in. I noticed no extra drag from the side mounted unit, but I also have a windshield on the bike. Its much sleeker than a gopro mount, so if you can handle that drag, this is not noticeable at all.

Broken clip
I absolutely love my Sena. But the dang clip broke off on me and now I can’t clip to my helmet anymore.

Issues with FM
Wanted this unit mainly so I can use my phone's GPS function on rides. Not that interested in talking on the phone (typically, that's what I'm trying to get away from when I ride) but I can see where it could come in handy. Also thought the FM radio feature would be nice - maybe checking on traffic, etc.THE BADIf you're main interest in this unit is listening to FM Radio while getting GPS navigation from your phone - you will likely be disappointed. As another reviewer pointed out, the FM radio is higher on the priority list than your phone's music/GPS. On my initial ride with this unit I had the radio on while using my phone's GPS. Didn't hear a single direction until the end of my ride when I realized the FM was still on (more on this) and I turned it off. I don't understand this rationale from Sena but it's pretty clearly stated in their manual.Next, I was only able to pick up a few FM stations throughout my ride and even they disappeared as I got farther from the city. At one point, I realized that I had not turned off the FM as I thought I did and was just unable to hear the static (freeway noise + ear plugs). Not surprising given that there's no real antenna but still, makes me think that listening to FM on this shouldn't be at the top of your priority list for buying this unit. I kind of wished they'd included an AM option so I could at least pick up something. The unit seems very stable on my helmet when fully clicked in but I worry that an errant tug on the locking tab might cause the unit to come loose and go bye-bye. I wish the locking mechanism were a little more secure.THE GOOD-- FM --On the brighter side regarding FM - it does have a scanning feature and the ability to program stations in via the mobile app.-- Sound --Experimenting with the phone capability around town, it's crisp and clear (even with ear plugs in) and people I spoke with had no trouble hearing me or me them. At freeway speeds (75+) it wasn't quite as clear although the other end seemed to hear me okay. I did not listen to music but the GPS instructions were pretty clear (after turning off the FM).-- Controls --I have an iphone and a simple press of a button engaged Siri so I was able to make a call easily. The rest is hit/miss but hopefully will get easier with more practice. The audible vox prompts are nice and help clue you in when you messed up a button push.-- Installation --Installation was pretty straightforward and the longest part of the process was tucking the wires in.I have not tried out the intercom but given how the rest of the operation went, don't foresee a problem. Overall I think this is a good unit and will serve one well if they are mainly interested in phone/GPS/intercom. But if FM is big priority, might want to investigate other avenues.Update - tried the music option which makes a fun ride even better. With ear plugs in I could hear the music on the freeway but it was muted. However, there's a "audio boost" function (off by default) that's available using the Sena app and once that's on, I could hear music & phone calls much better. I guess the drawback is loss of fidelity but on the freeway & with earplugs in, I didn't notice anything. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this product.
