Worth the money
Works great. We have been so successful with it. Even our neighbors have gotten them.

Very poor quality materials used
Very poor quality materials used. 2nd defective unit returned to Amazon. Easy to set, but latch mechanism broke off on this one.

It broke, only got 1 gopher
It does get them sometimes. I got the first gopher on my 2nd try. This new gopher I have set it 3 times and not gotten him and now the trap broke and I can't get it set anymore. The plastic mechanism is a problem.

Consider filing down the mechanism for easier catch
I have been using this trap for a week or so and the gophers have filled it numerous times but the trap never engages. It seemed the mechanism was pretty tight, probably so the plastic can wear over time (which I could see as an issue with what I did but I need an immediate solution). It appeared that the plastic piece that catches the rail was situated too far back in the device, making it so that the lever had to be pushed pretty hard before it engages. The small protrusion that goes over the holding box with the spring, I filed that down so it wasn't as long and now it engages very easily. Consider this if you are having the same issue but be careful not to take off too much, small adjustments, or you could render the trap useless. Time will tell if the fix catches some--I will try to follow up if that is possible here.EDIT**: confirmed, we had one in 10 minutes once the mechanism was adjusted. It helps to use something to back up the trap to so they don't push it back.

First time using a trap ever and got the gopher
First time ever using a trap. Super easy install and next day got my gopher. Maybe beginners luck but product worked perfectly. Very strong. I could not remove the body from the trap without potentially tearing the body apart so decided to get rid of the trap with the gopher together. But I could have cleaned the mess and reuse it.

Effective pest control
I have 2 similar traps that have worked well and I wanted 2 more (now and again they disappear from my yard). This model is easier to set with the bar that clicks into place. I have caught 8 gophers in the last several weeks, but there's a ton of activity and a ton of damage to my yard at this time of year, so trying to keep up. I could use a dozen more! I've seen recommendations to place two of these back to back in the tunnel, so that a gopher coming from either direction meets it. I have done that a few times. Most of my catches were with a single placement - though it's frustrating to find freshly dug dirt piled up against the closed end of the trap! I just reset it and try again. Anyway, first time out with this trap I caught a gopher, so it does work. The only downside is that you do have to dig a fairly big hole to place these in a tunnel. Not an issue for me, but it might be if you are setting in a lawn.
