Just about as close to a universal Knife you are going to find
I have both Zwilling and high end Japanese pattern welded knives. I have a Japanese version of this 6" Utility knife, a beautiful pattern welded Paudin "petty" knife. Of the 2 knives the Zwilling is my hands down favorite. Even though the blade design is about the same dimensionally The Zwilling excels in all of the jobs in the kitchen. The petty knife is great cutting vegetables but it is not very good at slicing. This Zwilling Utility is not only good at slicing things but does vegetable cutting just as good as the Japanese Petty knife and in a pinch it can be used as a boning knife. It feels great in the hand, very comfortable to use for extended periods of time. If you look at a Zwilling's junior chef's starting set of knives is consists of a 3 or 4 inch paring knife, this 6" utility, and an 8" chefs knife of the German blade style. Japanese style kitchen knives are nice to have and interesting to look at but they have shortcomings because of the pattern forging, if improperly used you can chip the blade. The Zwillings are the type of kitchen knives you would want if you are making a living as a chef.

The most versatile knife in the kitchen.
Amazing quality with superb versatility in the kitchen. Thin blade makes cutting through dense meat and veggies super easy and the steel offers great edge retention without being too difficult to sharpen on any household sharpening stone. The only drawback is the edges around the spine and base of the blade are not radiused at all, which causes some discomfort when cutting in a pinch grip. I just knocked the corners down with some 800 grit sand paper, which only took a few minutes.

So Good, It Got Stolen
A few years ago, I purchased this Henckels model along with a larger utility knife and a smaller paring knife. They all are excellent, but this one was my favorite for general kitchen use. The size was just right, the heft and balance were precision perfect, and the knife was razor sharp and held its edge better than any other kitchen knife I've ever owned. My husband and I host a mule deer hunting camp every season, and I take all my Henckel knives to camp for preparing the hunters' meals. I don't know what I would do without them. Well, the 6" knife didn't make it home last season. It disappeared from my kitchen during the second week. Since I am in charge of the kitchen, and I never take my utensils outside, it was very confusing to me when it disappeared, and I searched high and low. I even searched when I got home, although I knew I had used it back at camp, and it couldn't possibly be here. Then I realized the unthinkable had happened. My knife had been stolen. From time to time I did have people lend a hand in the kitchen, and admiring remarks were made about my knives. I have an idea which hunter took it, but I can't prove it. I had to let it go. This isn't a cheap knife, and I wasn't able to replace it immediately. It was sorely missed. I'm sooo glad I finally have another. Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Pro Professional "S" Slicing Knife 160mm/6" is the best all-round kitchen knife I have ever owned. Bar none. Needless to stay, the new one stays at home!

Feels good in hand and sharp
Just received it so hopefully it won’t break as other reviewers’ blades have. I don’t require a lot of hardware as my cooking is basic. But I have a favorite Analon serrated 5” utility knife which is my most used. It is no longer sold. I’ve wanted a second one as it has dulled over the years. The Zwilling 4 star comes closest. I like that it’s one-piece, which I assume means that the tang extends to the end of the handle. I like that the handle isn’t riveted. I like that it has a bolster which protects my hand and looks to me to be a sturdier design. The Zwilling is more lightweight than my Analon (I prefer more weight) and the cutting edge follows a straight line whereas the Analon gently curves to its tip. I prefer the curve as it seems to allow more rocking and probing. But the Zwilling is close in matching dimensions with the Analon, having a wider blade than other 5” utility knives, and its newly sharp! I’m glad I found it and recommend it!

Close Enough
The knife was a bit wider in the blade than I had expected. The blade is a little thick for delicate cuts, but strong for tougher slicing. It slices very well, but the wider surface tends to adhere to foods when slicing, which I consider a slight drawback, which is why I gave it four stars. The last Henckel knife I used most often was similar in length but narrower with an ever sharp blade. I was hoping this knife was similar. It is close, but doesn't have the ever sharp edge or the narrower profile. The handle is a comfortable grip. The full tang and rivets are high quality construction and appear very durable. The extra curve toward the butt end of the handle keep it from slipping while drawing cuts. The base of the blade has a nice metal transition that further displays higher quality and durability.
