These are great at Christmas time
Low energy, high brightness, and low heat. LED is the only way to go for any kind of light. These are great at Christmas time.

Lower electric usage and no LED flicker!
For years I've hated the LED Christmas lights because I could see a noticeable flicker from them, especially when they were in my peripheral vision. I know that not everyone sees this, but 60hz seems be on the edge of what we notice. It makes me recall the days of CRT computer monitors: I had to get one that had a refresh rate of 70hz, because the 60hz had a flicker that drove me nuts, while others didn't even see the issue. Because of this, I've never bought LED Christmas lights before. But unlike most of the cheap(er) LED Christmas light strands, this strand does not have the 60hz flicker since it's fully rectified, meaning it lights up for both directions of AC, so the resulting 120hz "flicker" is not something we can notice, unless you put the strand in motion by swinging it. (And since I don't plan on putting my Christmas decorations in motion, this should work great!)I've been quite pleased with this set, other than one light socket apparently being bad (because the spare bulb also did not light up in that socket). It's also nice that the strand stays lit when you remove one bulb from a socket.

NOT LEDs.
BEWARE: THESE ARE NOT LEDs. The look and color was all wrong (and extremely dim) so I examined them under a magnifying glass and it was exactly what it looked like -- a glowing incandescent element between two support posts. It's not hard to tell the difference between an LED and an incandescent bulb, and these are not LED's -- trust me. I'm returning the three boxes I ordered. I think they're using the term "Colorite LEDs" to mean bulbs that are so dim they use the same wattage as LEDs.
