Really pleased I took the plunge and invested in this great product. I've been promising myself for ages that I'd learn to play the guitar and this makes it so easy to practice and learn chords with the apps.I had to adjust the tension in the strings with the little wrench provided to fit my strumming style but, other than this minor adjustment, I was up and running, well learning, almost immediately.For me this is a perfect and very enjoyable way to start to learn how to play a guitar. Really enjoy and benefit from the free online lessons too.Love it.

Having seen the Jamstik top the top 5 music gadgets on the Gadget Show last night, I thought it was time to write a review.Just to note this is based on my view as a beginner guitarist so the midi side of things I haven't explored .I think the Jamstik is an awesome piece of kit but I can appreciate why its gets some negative reviews here.Out the box, it just doesn't work as well as you would hope. It doesn't register some of the note as you play, being the most obvious thing, but with a bit of patience, following the instructions to increase and decrease the sensitivity of each string and the board you can tune it in to working pretty well. Also I found the my sloppy playing style didn't help either but when I concentrated on curling the fingers, pressing the strings with the tips of the fingers as you should things improved.The instructional videos seem ok, and the chord and scale practice I do use a lot, but in my opinion the Jamstik comes into its own when following an online course - such as the awesome fender play app-when its not convenient to have your usual guitar with you and you want to keep practicingI wouldn't buy it as a beginner instead of a regular guitar, but if you travel alot for work, stay in hotels etc this is a great piece of kit to have in your bag. Size is good , its well made and 7 frets is a good compromise.Final thing to note is I use it through my laptop, connected via usb and run through Chrome and it works well with no lag.

Bought as a beginner guitar! Ok to learn individual chords beyond that the fret board becomes unresponsive after several chord changes and requires a “soft reset”! Unplayable!

Loved the idea and really wanted it to work as a learning tool, unfortunatly it did not work as hoped. far too many false fingering signals.seller very understanding and return and refund quickly organised. very efficient service
