Good kit
This is as a good set up for storage long term. The mylar is only 4 mil, but I will be placing these bags in a 5 gallon bucket with gamma seals. I use a food saver to vacuum down mylar and went over seal with hair straightening iron. Videos are posted showing step. This process was pretty easy.

Fantastic!
With all the crap going on in 2020 I found myself "stocking up". I checked out a couple of videos on prepping and decided to go with mylar. I am bagging everything like the mad hatter, lol.I choose a cheap flat iron from Walmart to seal and it works fine.Gallon bags are about the perfect size. It's not a bad idea to be prepared, mylar is a cheap way to store long term, not just for food but for everything from medical items to books. Anything that will benefit from keeping out air and moisture, mylar bags will do.I know some people see these kinds of activities as extreme, but 2020 convinced me that ANYTHING can happen. It's not only wise, but mandatory to prepare for unknown circumstances in the future and when you look at the effects of what the corona virus has done to the entire world, it's a no brainer. My grandparents were not dependant on anyone. They owned a self-sustaining farm and unless you are in this situation, then you are relying on someone else, daily, for your survival.

Great bags,but bad absorbers.
I purchased this set in February and just opened today(July 29th.) I like the bags alot, but the absorbers aren't working.Tried them first on Rice, knowing they don't necessarily pack down, but when I moved on to Oatmeal with the same outcome I realized they aren't working well.Would love a replacement pack, but am beyond expectation time.
