Recommended for Open minded stealth fans who seek a challenge.
Here's a look at Rogue Ops for the xbox. However it was also available for other systems such as GameCube and Ps2. Possibly for PC, haven't checked. It's a stealth game, not mainstream such as Metal Gear or Splinter Cell, but is it a worthy pick up? let's find out. So here's the aspects in no particular order, and the overall score, and why it's recommended for certain players:Characters: 7. Main character: Nikki Connors. Overall solid enough characters for a low budget title.Guns:8. Surprisingly good guns, pistol, crossbows, scoped rifle, etc.Gadgets: 8. Excellent gadgets to help you get the advantage. Fly cam, retina scan, tazer, etc.Story: 6.5. Not great, average at best, ending felt like a female Sam Fisher with the daughter twist.Levels: 8.5. High point of the game, excellent shadows, hiding areas such as lockers, and vents to maneuver as you see fit.Graphics: 7. Overall good for it's time, lacking slightly perhaps.Artwork/Book: 8. Book is helpful, cover isn't really too bad.Voice acting: 6. Another low point. Not enough personality.A.I./Enemies: 8. Surprisingly accurate and smart, will test your stealth skills.Hand To Hand Combat: 6.5. Helpful, left stick combos aren't bad when you get used to them, but the combat system isn't amazing.Overall: 73.5/100.For more reviews, keep an eye on XBOX Original, I appreciate any who took the time to read, take care all, and keep gaming! -DAS.

Don't miss this game!!
Don't let the name put you off... 'Rogue Ops' might sound like a cheesy Van-Damme movie, but its actually one of the best action-stealth games out there! You play 'Nikki Connors' who is a kick-ass military operative on a mission of personal revenge against the terrorists that killed her daughter. The game plays like a cross between 'Splinter Cell' and 'Tomb Raider', although the gameplay is far superior to Lara Crofts latest outing! This game is HARD. But in a good way, in fact I would suggest the following... if you do buy this game, then do yourself a favour and don't cheat! It's a real treat to find a game that harks back to the old-school days when the player was treated with some respect. All the answers are in the levels, and even the hardest puzzles are always possible to solve without resorting to a walkthrough. In fact, if you were to use a walkthrough then you'd miss out on some real FUN!This is definitely on of my favourite games so far this year, and I'd put it up there on a par with Metroid Prime in terms of quality. If you are looking for a quality game... treat yourself to a little one-on-one with Nikki Connors!!

A Clear Case of Insanity
I played this game today through the first training mission and a portion of the second training mission. In the latter, the objective is to terminate a guard on station. For this game, I have to approach the guard, activate the A button, and duplicate a series of movements. I noticed that based on my position that these varied. Unfortunately, the cut scene didn't match my movements. It was consistently the same - my character would do a forward kick with the right leg, the guard would be aroused, and my character would be gun-butted by the alerted guard. I repeated this many times. The definition of insanity is repeating the same event over and over, aka Rogue Ops.(There are better stealth games. I would recommend two games which incorporate stealth in their game design - Thief: Deadly Shadows and The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. I have both and can attest to their quality.)

nowhere near splinter cell
If you loved splinter cell like I did, you may feel tempted to get this game. It promises interesting stealth gameplay, yet it hardly delivers. First off, the gameplay control is very frustrating. Nikki walks around as if she were drunk; try to simply walk forward and she'll veere left and right. Also, there is practically zero freedom to do anything on the fly. Sure you can grapple and hang from ledges, but only when the "magic cursor" allows you to. Here's another example: you have a bomb with which to destroy a car; but you can't just put it anywhere on the car, oh no, it has to be near the little blinking "bomb goes here" light / prompt. This takes away from the feeling of freedom and relegates it to more of a game on rails feel. Secondly, the graphics are pretty lame by x box standards. Definitely rent this game first if you have any interest in it. Or hold off completely until Pandora Tomorrow is out...
