Thank You, Helpers: Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Grocery Workers, and More Who Care for Us

Disappointing
I bought more than one copy of this book and gave them out to all the children who are experiencing this moment of history; however, there was something I didn’t realize before I gave them away. In this seemingly perfect book about honoring heroes of the pandemic, there was NOT ONE POLICE OFFICER OR FIREMAN mentioned. Not one. Not even in the pictures. That’s just disgraceful, and I wish I could return all the books. Those men and women deserve a spot in that book just like the janitors, and anyone else who has been working around the clock to help people during this pandemic and it’s shameful that they weren’t mentioned. Sad!

Disappointed
I purchased this book for a 4 year old. It's a scary world out there for her and many others. I was hoping this book would be a way to let her know that there are people out there that work to keep us safe and to care for us, and the people we love. How truly disappointing to read this book and find there was no representation of police officers. I will not recommend this book.

Sad and disappointed!
We ordered this book for my 3 year old grandson, whose father happens to be a police officer. We were very upset to learn several other community helpers were left out of this book, such as police officers, firemen and military just to name a few. I will not support the cause "Americares". We will be sending it back for a refund.

Beautiful, thank you helpers!
Such a great resource to help kids make sense of what's happening in their world!

What about the others?
Not to discredit the heroes referenced in the book (they absolutely are heroes), but shouldn't cops and firefighters be in this as well? These people go out and risk their lives everyday for our community not knowing if they will ever make it back home to their families. They should absolutely be in this book. This saddens me that books are being written for children to not understand the value of this profession in our communities. I get the social injustice going on, but at the end of the day there are police officers who absolutely protect and serve us. As a daughter of a retired firefighter, my father almost lost his life several times saving others, so I find this book to be disheartening.

What a wonderful book!
This is a wonderful book for helping kids celebrate the essential workers who have helped them, their families, and everyone of us to stay healthy and safe. As a pediatric occupational therapist in NYC where the COVID-19 pandemic first escalated, I appreciate the simplicity and honesty of this lovingly written and illustrated book and know that my clients and their families will cherish it for years to come.--Lindsey Biel, OTR/LCoauthor Raising a Sensory Smart ChildAuthor Sensory Processing Challengeswww.sensorysmarts.com

Disappointed in representation
I thought this book would include all helpers in our community. I am grateful to the helpers they did mention in the book, but what about the other helpers that go out and risk their lives for us every day (police and firefighters)? My dad is a police officer and it just felt like a big disrespect to an entire community and job field of people by not including them in this book. I would not recommend if you want something that includes everyone.

Typical liberal propaganda
Apparently janitors and UPS drivers are heroes, but cops aren't. Not surprising in this day and age.
