Q: If i set the alarm to wake up to an fm preset, how is the volume? can you set it to stay at a set volume? or is there no choice?

I actually have it set to an FM preset. You can set the volume as loud as you want. I have it on extra loud:) Just make sure the station comes in very clear.

Q: Am I the only one experiencing time drift on this thing? The time slowly drifts off of the actual time so I end up waking up later and later.

I have had mine for several years without such antics. Like the other iHome units it uses a “wall wart” external power supply which converts your AC power to a nominal 12v DC current. IF you are using an aftermarket power supply this might be causing the problem. If not it is possible that your circuit is running higher than the normal (appx 117v) normal on most 120v circuits). A power conditioner between the wall plug and the wall wart may reduce its output to proper levels. (Both too low and too high voltage values can be too problematic) If the power supply (wall wart) is not cool to the touch, it is not operating properly. All such devices have their output values written on them and an aftermarket one that can produce the same output levels will work. Great clock display, lousy sound, inconsistent Bluetooth connections, but so far a good alarm clock.
