It's a good glaze
This was decent glaze, this piece is made with some under glazed then the clear glaze. The glaze looks really nice. It comes pink but it fires clear and the price is really good for glaze

Purple like royalty, very rich color with slight translucency (can apply heavier coat)
I always have good results with Speedball products. If you use them as the label guides you, High in High fire, Low in Low fire, and stay within the recommendations, these are almost foolproof. Some will run a bit more than others, so read the specs and think in advance how you should apply them. Some need heavier applications than others, or one coat may be all you need. Read information on the products, make notes when you do test chips and for each new use. You will find consistency is the key to every good outcome. This product needs to be gently but well stirred before the 1st brushed application. Or if you have enough to dip, this is a good glaze for that.

A Decent Clear Glaze
I use a clear glaze for the bottom of my pots over an underglaze stamp. I was running out of my super clear and needed a quick fix. After reading reviews, I thought it was certainly worth a try. As many had mentioned before, the glaze was a bit thick on arrival. Easy fix. For this last run, I had a mix of Georgie's Super Clear and Speedball Clear. They were comparable at a casual glance and honestly I had forgotten which pots had which glaze. Keep in mind that I am only glazing the bottom of my pots with the clear. <shrug> It works fine and for the cost, the product is a good value. I will most likely buy it again.

Best clear glaze around !
This is the only clear glaze I've found so far that does not cause Amaco velvet underglazes to run when brushed on. Because it is a thick, gel-like glaze, it's easy to apply and, because it's pink, I love that you can see where you have/have not applied the glaze. It's a staple among my ceramic supply "must haves".

Love this shiny clear glaze
When I first purchased this, I had problems. It was too thick and clumpy, and if I didn’t wait long enough between coats, it would thin, pull the previous coat, or it would pool near the bottom and fire opaque/white.USER ERROR!Yes, it is too thick, but that’s good as you get close to three times what you bought because it always needs thinning.Don’t apply a second coat until the first is completely dry, as in 100% dry. No cheating.Apply glaze horizontally if the first coat was vertical.Apply three coats only if the glaze has been thinned to a very thin state as it won’t be likely to clump/pool and become opaque/white.

Very good clear GLOSSY glaze!
It's not clear from the description but this glaze is glossy and not matte. It's a little goopy so I thin it out a bit with water and apply 3 even coats. I've only applied it to small detail areas on my sculpts and fired it to cone 6, and it looks really good. I wish it were ready to use out of the container instead of needing some thinning, that's why I docked it a star on the review.

Garbage. Burns out speedball red underglaze sat cone 6
This whole heart was dark red. It turned yellow wherever the clear glaze touched it, burned out the reds on a ton of work. Didn’t affect other colors. Ruined a bunch of student work. Thanks speedball, this is obviously not a normal clear glaze. Maybe don’t sell it as one.

It’s great- follow directions
Almost all of the poor reviews seen here can be chalked up to user error. Yes, this glaze is thick and gelatinous. This just means you get more for free compared to other brands. Scoop some into a little bowl, add a bit of water and stir until it’s smooth and quite fluid. Smooth and fluid! Apply with a soft fan brush in thinner layers. Don’t allow the glaze to pool in big lumps. If you have deep sgraffito or carving I recommend spraying or applying in a dabbing motion with a clean new sponge to get even coverage without thick pools of glaze. If you think it’s too thick it probably is. I know we are taught to gloop the brushing glazes on but it’s not necessary with this product. I have great results every time with this clear glaze. I use primarily Amaco underglazes and have had zero issues. Give me the pink stuff.
