Is this a Discharge sensor only or can it be used as Return sensor also?

Can I use it with a Honeywell 9000 series t-stat without having an interface? Don't need it to take control, just want to see discharge air temp.

Is this holder-only or does it include the sensor probe?

How to double confirm if sensor is fault. ac trips every minute ed blinking and starts on when it is stable green led. so i suspect sensor the pronlem
