Very good and just easily fitted.

I bought this two meter length of cable to modify this beautiful chandelier, which Amazon imported from China for me, but it was wired to Chinese standard, which meant that there was no earth wire. Seeing as I installed into a British house, where the electrical regulations are tight, and basic insulation (class 0) isn’t good enough should a fault occur, and the metal parts could become live. Having replaced the two core clear figure of eight cable (which did look good) with this cable (which still looks good, hence the choice of colour) I was able to connect the exposed metal parts to mains earth, and make it become class 1 insulation, so now if a fault develops, the stray voltage will be drained down to earth and blow a fuse, thus gaining automatic disconnection and keeping it safe from possible electrocution. Although I wasted some of the length, I was able to strip back some of this cable, along with the original, in order to securely twist them into intertwining loops, and wrap tightly with insulation tape, in order to pull the new cable in, using the old one as a drag wire. I used industrial crimp connectors and a special crimper to seccure both ends of the earth wire (see photo).I am pleased with the result.

Good cable, effective, lost a star because the length ordered was a little short (ordered 3 meters and got 2.8mtrs, so be sure you order more than enough!

The dark gold colour is perfectly understated for an antique-style lamp. It has just arrived so it hasn't been used yet but it looks just right to complete the required look.
