Love these scissors
The Kenchii Scorpion straight scissors are a pleasure to use. I am new at grooming my dog, Wilson, who is 65 lbs and has long thick hair. I decided to try to keep his hair short with a scissor cut rather than the usually shaving he was getting at the groomer which was always stressful for him. These scissors are extremely sharp, they cut extremely well. I had no problem with the weight of the scissors and the movement of the blades were very smooth. I use a comb to hold the hair out to the chosen length making sure I am never close to Wilsons body. Keep your fingers out of the way as well because first time I caught one of mine, it was an instant wound. My first cutting was done in intervals and took all day to finish. In the end, I have to say my grooming job was good. My friends did not believe it was done by me.I think these will remain sharp for a while with good care, I just need to figure out where to find a professional sharper when it does need to be done.

Professional scissors
I'd been using a Wahl dog grooming set. It sucked. The scissors are the same that come with Wahl human clippers. They're not adequate. These scissors are sharp and cut evenly without pulling or snagging. This is the way to go along with a professional 2-speed clipper, which isn't cheap. But that's worth it too. Pro groomers use scissors like these, only the more expensive ones, and they get them sharpened once or twice a year. But they use them all day every day. I figure that amounts to about 2000 hours between sharpening. I use these for an hour a month. My scissors should go 200 years without sharpening. So, if you're doing your own grooming at home--don't worry about sharpening. They'l last longer than you. Put your scissors in your will.

Pleased and beyond
When you pick these shears up, or even open the box, you will know you got the quality and shears that you paid for! These are not those shears you get from the local retail store (even though some do sell them special order) or those that come packaged with some cheap clippers for $20 bucks.Kenchii does make even more higher quality shears beyond this price range, but far from my budget and use in grooming as I don't groom but 10 dogs every other month. They will probably never need sharpening in my lifetime quota and last for 3 more generations at that quota rate. So be prepared to hand them down to a grand child.Would I buy this singel pair of Kenchii shears again? YES AND NO!I would buy the complete set, (Straight, Curved, and Thinners) and then maybe singles in 2-3 sizes eg. 6, 8, 10 inches! But I regret not getting the 3 set kits and only getting the single.

Sharp and nice straight cut
I’ve only used these shears once to trim the long hair on my Skye terrier. They feel good in my hand and make it easy to get a straight cut on the hair that was dragging on the ground. Rups looks like he was trimmed by my sister, a professional fog groomer.

Great shears
These shears are very well made. They are sharp and they cut well. The 8” shears that I bought are a bit longer than I would prefer, so I plan to buy a shorter pair, as well. The next (shorter) pair I buy will definitely be a Kenchii. Very nice shears for the money. And they have a lifetime warranty.

A little on the heavier side
A little on the heavier side but great shears otherwise. Purchased because I have the scorpion thinners and liked them. But went with another brand for curves due to the weight of these and the fact that I am using these heavily for hand scissoring and want to lessen wrist fatigue as much as possible.
