Da Brigh Black Tarot Cards Deck for Shadow Work

I’ve had the Black Tarot by Victoria Iva in my wish list for a *very* long time. I can’t tell the date when this deck was birthed. The artwork and premise are sooooo compelling, yet I’ve shied away from purchasing it because, based on the images I could find online, I thought this deck would be too advanced for me to read. Even after reading and studying tarot off and on for thirty years, I still consider myself an intermediate reader. After a series of interesting events in my life and long talks with my son, I let myself give in to buying this deck. (I’m careful about optional purchases because I live on disability social security.) I am so thrilled to be so wrong about this deck. It is so incredibly intuitive. It is as if the images spark open a portal in my mind. The art is delectable; the imagery profound. I don’t think this deck has any cards that I don’t like. The back design is perfect. The artwork is innovative, mesmerizing, and so very individual, but in a way, also classic—you can tell RWS has subtle influence here. After my initial review of the cards, I didn’t even bother with my dumb question of “Are you my reading deck?” Duh. The cardstock is solid but not too thick; it’s smooth, buttery, and easy to handle, even with my small hands. I don’t riffle shuffle anymore because of arthritis in my hands, I want to keep my cards in good shape, and—selfishly, maybe—I don’t want anyone else touching my working decks anymore. (Yes, I suppose that makes me weird.) You know the acronym RTFM (i.e., read the f****** manual)? For once, I did. I am notorious for bypassing any manual and diving in headfirst. However, I find I’m following an instruction from the book—I have a journal (on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CSSXQ78T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 on which I am going to dedicate a page to each card, along with further tarot musings. By doing so, I am confident I’ll boost my tarot reading, knowledge, and intuition to the next level, and I can’t wait for that to happen! Wow. Fewer than 48 hours have passed, I have learned much even through such a superficial review, and I *know* this is my personal reading deck. When I read for others, I usually use the “Radiant Wise Spirit” tarot, or the Wild Unknown tarot. (If I’m reading for a cat-loving querent, I use the Medieval Cat Tarot.) The Black Tarot is for me alone (for now, anyway). I have an incredible relationship with the Wild Unknown tarot, but it’s as if the Black Tarot and I are magnetized to each other. No doubts. No hesitation. When a deck hits you like this, you need each other. Buy it.

First tarot deck I’ve ever bought. Was drawn to this deck because I love the dark side of things. Before I bought them I read a lot of your comments about it not being for beginners. I definitely agree! However, I love that I’m a beginner and I get to explore the connection between myself and the cards without starting from the original basics or the “lighter” decks. I want the heavy and depth. I don’t want anyone telling me what something is before I’ve had time to channel my energy through the cards and vice verse. I love how powerful the cards are without me touching them. I love that there was a conversation BEFORE I bought the cards. I love that I heard them before I bought them. They’re beautiful and I love the black. I have a lot of oracle cards. I’ve noticed that oracle cards have the author or creators energy stowed away in them and that’s what help guides you. It also narrates for you. However, these tarot cards have no narration. It’s like they’re waiting on you to lead, to interact, to dare them. Almost as if to say, “I dare you to invite me in.” Lol. Tarot are for those spirits or souls who aren’t afraid to go beyond the surface and see birds flying underwater. Very ethereal! I don’t plan to come back up once I’ve truly submerged. I also am taking my time to go one by one through the cards and giving them time to go through me one by one. I recommend for all! Even the beginners! Well done! UPDATE: I’ve been working with the cards and I am even MORE in love with this deck. I connected with the deck and they’ve connected with me. I’ve learned so much and I’m truly enjoying this journey of tarot. I am so grateful for starting from the dark end. Considering I’m on my journey and I awakened last year and it’s been rough. These cards have been allowing me to see in and be okay with seeing in. Again, the cards are beautiful. Now? They’re just incredibly liberating. It’s what I wanted. Truly happy about this purchase.

I purchased this black tarot deck because I was looking for something darker, more serious, and special—something that felt different from the decks I already own. I was immediately drawn to the abstract figures on this deck, and after using it, I can honestly say I absolutely love it. One of my favorite details is that even the sides of the cards are black, meaning the actual card stock itself is black. It makes the deck feel very intentional and premium. The matte finish is beautiful—it’s smooth, easy to shuffle, and doesn’t leave fingerprints, which is a huge plus. What really sets this deck apart for me is that each card is illustrated by a real person. In a time when so many decks are AI-generated, it means a lot to know that an artist took the time and care to create every single card. The illustrations feel powerful, majestic, and deeply intuitive, and they genuinely enhance my readings. This deck feels grounded, thoughtful, and meaningful. It’s exactly what I was hoping for, and it has quickly become one of my favorites. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a dark, elegant, and artist-made tarot deck.

okay so i literally neverrrr write reviews to start off, but this deck is literally SOOO EVERYTHING. it feels high quality, heavy, the cards are nice and thick, still easy to shuffle. LOVEEEEE the artwork. the artwork for each card is insanely beautiful but also the symbolism and just overall feel/vibe is insane!! makes me look at specific cards so differently and it’s just gorgeous. like probably one of the most beautiful decks that i’ve ever seen. i’m still a baby tarot reader but these are still pretty easy to understand if you’re still learning plus it comes with the book!! also for the price, not bad at aaaaall. i would so buy this as a gift for any of my witchy friends. incredibly beautiful like i just can’t get over it.

Oh, man. I'm a bit newer to the Tarot scene and have been using someone else's deck to learn on for a while, and finally I decided to get my own. I scoured over a bunch of different decks, many of which were good, but this one really jumped out at me. The artistry in this deck is absolutely phenomenal, and in my opinion, even as a newbie it speaks to me very clearly. The feel of the cards as you shuffle them is really nice. They have like a matte type finish on them and are of a standard Tarot size (from my understanding), so they're basically the perfect fit in the hand. They're not flimsy at all and have a good thickness. The artwork is very deep and draws you in, you can tell there was a lot of though and intention put into this work. One final thing, which is really cool I think, is that the cards appear to be possibly printed onto a black card stock, so the edges are black all the way around, and through the deck. Very cool. I think they're awesome.

This deck's artwork is just gorgeous, I loved the deck when I first saw it from a youtube channel, the card stock is just amazing, very thick, the deck is beautiful, easy to use, the cards stick a bit, but with use, that should hopefully change. Now, I gave this a 4 star here is why, the Fool card as a line going through it, which with my OCD bothers me. I ordered a replacement, and that also had the same line on the same card in the same location. This is from the publishing company. I reached out to Amazon, and they are willing to refund upon return, but did not address the issue. So, I will reach out to the publishing company and see what they may do, hopefully replace the card for me.

Really beautiful and unique cards. They have been in my wishlist for a while and finally decided to purchase. Not disappointed. Appreciate that they were created by an artist and nice touch to have a card of the artist’s info too.

I absolutely love this deck. The gothic artwork really stands out to me as something special. I use multiple decks. I have designated this deck as my shadow work deck and it responds accordingly.

I love this deck. The art is amazing. If you read tarot rider-waite style, the images are still recognizable. If you read with other methods, intuition or using folk cartomancy (like with playing cards) for example, the images are abstract enough to make your own interpretations. The cardstock is quite thick, which personally doesn't make it so easy to shuffle, but on the other hand it will probably make the cards more durable.

One of my favourite tarot decks of all time from the beautiful and talented Victoria Iva. Fantastic cardstock, edged in black and truly amazing artwork make this a must have for any serious tarot collector with a taste for the beautiful and unusual. A true original and highly recommended.

I believe every deck has its spirit.I thought this deck must be a moon then the moon card came out. It‘s my one. Good quality.
