CRAFTSMAN Laser Level and Stud Sensor, 20-Foot Visbility Range (CMHT77636) , Red

I have used many laser levers from half the price of the Craftsman to 4 times the price but my go-to laser lever is this Craftsman. Most of my use is hanging pictures and the self-leveling is a must and the Craftsman works great. Wish it had vertical self-leveling but the protractor works well to get a 90 degree that I mostly use. So, if you need a simple utilitarian laser level I would recommend you stop looking and get this one.

I bought this one as I had a like unit for many years that quit. This one, is kinda ok at best. It's not super accurate and the Lazer is not powerful... so the light is pretty dim. The buttons on mine are wonky as well. I would probably buy something else.

There really is nothing to like about this thing. It's big, ugly, expensive, and inaccurate. Maybe I have a dud, but I can see that my stud finder is as accurate as a video posted - you can see it says the stud is almost 4" wide. Ha! Mine always thinks there is some type of stud behind the wall, not necessarily showing full strength, but showing it senses something. It also is not consistently repeatable. The level is okay, but a bit wonky and unwieldy. The form factor is quite unusual - I don't think there is real purpose behind the design. I have tried so many times to use this, having owned it over six months, but it has never been helpful - not once. I tried to write something positive, especially considering this is a decent brand, but it is almost impossible to do. I would not recommend spending any money on this, or even accepting it for free. It "seems" to important just to toss in the trash, so it sits there, on my workbench, just taking up space.

Laser is awesome! But the stud finder function sometimes not working properly. Had to press it very hard against the wall to find the stud.
