Akuma no Riddle Vol. 1: Riddle Story of Devil (Akuma no Riddle: Riddle Story of Devil, 1) Paperback – October 27, 2015

I'm completely new to manga, although I've been a lover of essential art for decades, and perhaps the most compelling reason I picked this book up was because of the line work on the cover. The rest of the book delivers those same beautifully drawn lines, and the artwork is all in all spectacular. There is quite a large cast of characters, all of them introduced rather rapidly, and most of them are female. Despite this, they all have their own aesthetic differences and I had am easy time telling who was who. The story itself is very exciting. The basic plot is a take on the classic "killing game" setup - in particular, 13 school girls are all transferred into the same class. Twelve of them are assassins and the remaining one is the target, but nobody actually knows who the target is. Things get interesting when one of the assassins decides to switch sides. Characterization is pretty good here. There are a just a couple characters who so far don't seem to be more than cardboard stand ins, merely there to fit a role. But contrastingly, most of the other characters are compelling and interesting and realized.Apparently there's an anime version too, I've heard most people don't like it. Not having seen the anime myself, I can say that, strictly speaking of the manga, this is a very exciting story and I'm gonna go pick up volumes 2 and 3 as soon as Barnes and Noble opens.

El manga inicia bien, nos presentan los personajes muy bien acompañado de un buendibujo e historia en el manga.

ya lo habia leido anteriormente, pero lo buscaba en fisico, me gusta mucho el arte de la ilustradora y sobre todo la historia.

Love the art and story. One of my favourites of all time =)
