I just finished installing a pack of 4, 6" lights in my home study and so far I'm very happy with lights. I spent several months researching micro disk recessed lights I feel these are the best ones on the market and have several advantages over most other micro disk recessed lights from other manufacturers.PROS:Light Output: These lights output 1200 lumens which is 200 to 400 more than what most other micro disk manufacturers offer. This means that you don't have to install as many lights to achieve a high output where as with other micro disk lights on the market you would have to install 6 to 8 lights to equal the same light output that 4 of these lights provide.Color Selection Option: These lights offer the best light temperature/color options over most of the their competitors. Specifically, you can set these lights to output at color temperatures of 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K or 5000K. Many of the micro disk lights only offer 3 color temperature options and/or exclude the 2700K and 3500K options. 2700K is the same color temperature as incandescent lights, which allows you to match these with older lights very easily and 3500K is a true/pure white color and the highest tone of white the does not introduce blue tones, which can harm your circadian rhythm.Additional Size Options: In addition to the 6" size option, Sylvania makes this fixture in 3", 4" and 8" options, which makes it easy to install different sizes throughout your home and have them all match.Matching Retrofit Light: Sylvania also makes a retrofit light (Sylvania 65524) that matches this micro disk light. This is important because if you have existing can lights in your home, you can create a consistent look between the retrofitted cans and the new micro disk lights you add to your home.Hole Size Works with a 6" Hole Saw: The cut-out that's needed for installing these lights is exactly 6", which means you can use a 6" hole saw bit to easily make the cut outs in your ceiling. Many other manufactures require odd sized cuts that can be < or > 6" making it difficult to use standard sized bits to make your cut-out.CONS (Not many, but here are a couple):Knock-out Grommets Not Included: Sylvania does not provide the grommets to place within the knockouts to protect the electrical wires, so you'll need to pick-up a pack at your hardware store. I'd be willing to pay a few extra dollars for this product for the convenience.Placement of Color Temperature Switch Could be More Convenient: Sylvania placed the color temperature switch directly on the junction box. This isn't a big deal breaker, but if you want to test different color temperature options after installation, you have to pull the junction box out of the ceiling to get to the selection switch. A few manufactures are now placing the switch on the cord that runs between the junction box and the light, plus a very select few have built in features where you can adjust this setting using a dimmer switch.Overall, I'm very satisfied with the quality of these lights and plan on adding more in other rooms at a future time. I'll be sure to keep this review updated if my experience changes.

Works really well and convenient because you just plug it in! Not bad price for what you get. Loud enough in case of emergency!

UPDATE: I just found my 11th light out of 60+ I installed hanging out of the ceiling and lowered my rating to 1-star as a result. How disappointing Sylvania would think this is acceptable. Creeping up on 20% failure rate. Plan to replace with Halos with the metal tabs as the Sylvanias fail.I put up 60+ of these in my home. Of those 60, I have 6 that have failed on the spring-loaded plastic tabs. That’s a 1 in 10 failure rate. A few failed on installation but what worries me more is that after just a few months, I’ve had a few fail in the ceiling. By comparison, the Halo lights have a very solid metal tab. Also, I find the little junction box a little flimsy. White trying to stow the box in the ceiling, I’ve had to reinstall the covers multiple times because they just pop off. Also by comparison, the Halo lights have a nice, solid and hinged junction box that is much more secure and convenient. I do really like the convenience of 5 selectable light temperature settings. Also, a 6” hole saw works perfectly for these lights.

These worked EXACTLY as they should, BUT BEWARE!!!! They have changed the plugs from female to male (Or vice versa - I can't remember now) and you will have to replace EVERYTHING. After I did that, and got the switch to the right color, they have worked fine ever since!!!! Just hate that they're this expensive. Overall, the installation wasn't bad and they look good!!!

I disliked the flimsy wire cover plate secure tabs. The kept coming undone when placing them in the hole. Brightness was good, as well as the light weight. I especially liked the 5 mode light set tab( I like Natural daylight). I also liked that it worked well with dimmer switch.

These lights work great! Easy to install, and decent room in the box to make connections. The light "color" adjustment works great to fine tune the light to the application.I've purchase probably 3 dozen lights of different sizes/types lights on Amazon. The lesson learned is if you can find the light you want in a "Name Brand", it's worth the extra cost. Quality is apparent. Some of the off brands wouldn't pass building codes in most areas of the country. This brand is about as good as it gets.

Bought 16 of these sylvania LED lights back in 2020. The metal control boxes seem to get pretty hot when they are running even though they are IC rated. Plus, it's Jan 2023 and some of them are starting to flicker. One has failed completely. Expensive lighting for two years of life. I bought sylvania for the name brand reliability. Would probably buy cheaper brand next time since the brand name did not impress with lifespan of product.

I will be buying tons more of these lights. They are so slim and bright and I love that you can adjust the brightness to fit your needs. The junction box that comes with it is awesome. I didn't need to go out and buy a new junction box. I just drilled that sucker to a rafter and wired it straight into it. The ease of installation is such a seller. I wish all lights were as easy to install as this one is. 10/10
