Velox Deluxe Cotton Rim Tape 19mm x 2m - 2-Pack Box

I bought this after I realized the bike shop that I purchased my new wheel from failed to install, or offer to install, rim tape. This was the perfect fit and it is very strong. The adhesive is just strong enough to stay in place but not sticky enough to leave a residue.

Quick delivery and install was simple

Second order of these tapes. Easy to install, tough as nails, stays put without slipping. Haven't tried to re-install these after removing them for a spoke change. Adhesive might or might not hold, I don't know. I just installed a new one. Be sure to get the correct width when you order. Much better than the slippery plastic tapes.

Our Trek Bikes came with a plastic rim tape resembling fiberglass band strap material. It is wide for Mountain bike rims...but the profile of the Bontrager rims curve the edge upward. At very low ride weights...this doesn't normally present a problem. At average or better rider weights...the edge of this tape splits the inner tube open. VELOX rim tape doesn't slip around...it is lightly adhesive for positioning...and then stays put...it is also cotton weave...so very gentle on the inner tube. I went from getting a flat every 10 miles...to zero flats over 2000 miles...I have changed tires during that time. I just purchased this for my son's bike. I hadn't added Velox rim tap to his bike back when I converted. I remembered when he started getting flats...and the inner tube looked like it had been sliced open with a knife...bad plastic rim tape!!! Get the Velox.

When I Start Experiencing Unexplained, Constant Inner Tube Blow-outs Or Air Leaks, I Clean The Inner Rim of The Tire, Remove Existing Rim-Tape, Install Velox Rim-Cloth... puts an end to the agony!

These worked better than other brands I purchased. I like the cloth rim strips as they work with a wider range of rims width. There can be some overlap - I have used this on rims 15mm - 20mm with no problems.

I had recurring internal punctures with standard rim tape. I spent extra on Velox but don't regret it because it solved my problem with flats.

Works exactly as advertised and feels strong enough to withstand pokes from the spokes. Only minor issue is that the adhesive is also present on the top of the tape so it may stick to the tyre when putting it into the rim.

Decent price, quick delivery, and does what it's supposed to.

I have 16 inches tires on my bike which need to be pumped up to 80 psi. I have tried different rim tapes, most would either shift out of place or too thin to withstand the pressure, the end result was always the same, punctured inner tubes. I have installed VELOX for a while and it is still holding up well against inner tube puncture. It looks like I do not have to stock up on inner tubes any more.Next time I need rim tape, I definitely will go for VELOX, install once and no headache after.
