Q: Is the boosted read speed with usap sustained or does it drop after a certain time? i want to use the drive to play back 4k files for video editing.

Speed is not as stated. I have found it to be same as the cheaper sabrent enclosure.

Q: Is it possible to use a usb-c to a cable instead of the one provided?

Hi, Thanks for contacting us. Yes, other USB C cables could work with this USB C Hard Drive Enclosure. Note: Since the speed of data transmission will also be affected by the cable, a USB 3.1/3.0 cable could be a better performance. Hope it helps.

Hi, Please check if you use the cable included in the package of 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure? Is the USB port you connect this enclosure to 2.0 or 3.0? Besides, please test the item with another PC to see if the same problem exists. Hope it helps.
