Good safe, use common sense.
Small or large, any safe can be taken away unless you bolt it down. Now that said, this is a good safe given its price, ( i paid 110.) It will definitely keep the kids out, Fort Knox...no. But, for the money I would say it is the best bang for the buck I have seen. Small enough to keep in a closet, large enough to store 7 Glock cases plus ammo. It is kinda heavy, about 50 pounds empty and appears well constructed with the door being the thickest part. Simple but effective design. The setup is easy, instructions are clear and easy to follow, practice a couple times empty first and then your good to go. You always have the 2 keys, to unlock, just don't lose them and hide the keys as well, just not from yourself.I would recommend a large hardware store to put a battery powered light inside it, 6.00 bucks, magnet back sticks to inside top or side. And to pick up some bolts. I used 3" 5/16" lag bolts. 1.90 each. Drilled 1//4" pilot hole in floor through carpet and socket wrenched them in with washer. If access to basement is there, use regular bolts with locking washers. The safe has 2 pre-drilled holes in bottom and 2 in the back. You may want to add a couple more holes or not.Nothing will stop a determined thief but they will have to tear up the floor to get this, and I read where most are in and out fast...so, getting this or breaking into is going to take some time. Now would I keep lots of cash, family jewels, or gold in here, probably not but it would be better in there than anywhere else in the house unless very well hidden. It is not fireproof but would seem to be ok short of a total burn down. Can't really say much on that aspect. It is what it is.I am satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this product for exactly what it is as covered in my review.

Works fantastic!
This fits in my file drawer perfectly. It comes with batteries, so you don't have to buy any upfront. Comes with two keys, easy enough to understand directions to help set up codes. Real well made and solid.

Good safe, nice features - meets the needs of most.
I shopped quite a bit and after looking at several and seeing reviews settled on this. For the price of just over $100, it is a good deal, better than most priced similarly. It came very quickly and appears well made, thought like comparing a Mercedes to a Chevy, you get what you pay for. If you want a heavy duty house safe of this size with more security to prevent access, you will need to spend about $250-$300 at a minimum. Many safes these size seem to be used for gun security(not our need), so perhaps more would be better. We use it for papers, etc. It is not fireproof, but I suspect you are fine unless your house or whereever you put it is completely destroyed by fire. It could be carried out, so best to bolt it down somewhere. There are 4 predrilled mounting holes and you could drill more if you wanted to. No thief is going to take time to remove a safe that is securely bolted from a house. All they want is a quick in and out. The locking mechanism and keypad are adequate, but not over the top. Sep key access is also good feature. I would recommend purchase if you want a basic safe of reasonable size for short money.

It is a great bargain
It seems like it has to be pointed out more and more that there are different types of products like these that serve different markets. This is not a high end safe so don't expect one. But you do get a lot for your money. This is an awesome home safe. Is the lock easily picked? Yes it is. Keep in mind this is a home safe and not some high security hard to crack safe. But even many high end safes are easy to pick for an experienced locksmith. This is an entry level safe that will put up a significant effort against brute force attacks. Seriously it is highly unlikely that anyone is going to get into this thing via brute force without a lot of work. I mean a lot of work. Its weakpoint is obviously the lock but again to defeat it requires more preparation than a typical burglary of opportunity will put in. If you need a safe with a lock that will stand up to even a casual and cheap picking tool then look elsewhere because it only takes seconds to pick this lock even for people with no lock picking experience.Great safe for the money. Keep papers, meidications and other stuff locked up from those who you don't want to have access. Unless you are the lockpicking lawer you will probably be satisfied with this safe for casual security use.You get to create two access codes and have a backup key to unlock it. A little confusing on the procedure to unlock with the key pad as you have to type in your code and then press A or B for which passcode it is. Other than that super simple to setup.

Perfect size
This easily holds all my personal documents, medications and I use the bottom as a mini liquor cabinet to hide my stuff from 2 teenage boys :)

Lock broke and jammed shut 3 months after purchase.
First of all I'd like to apologize to anyone who might have bought this safe based on my earlier enthusiastic 5 star review about the product . I'm editing it to set the record straight. Initially I was impressed by the safe's sturdiness and its functionality; I was very happy with this safe. I guess now in hindsight I willfully ignored some warning signs like how the entire upper lock cover is made out of plastic, or how the knob which is the only way to turn the two solid steel deadbolts is also made out of a cheap plastic. In the end it was this last part that did it.After only 3 months of very moderate use I punched in the code one day, it gave me the confirmation beep that I had entered the right code, I turned the knob like I always do and then *SNAP*!!! The knob just spun freely 360 degrees in either direction. Retrieving the key didn't help either. The lock will not budge. You can't turn the key. It's jammed shut. And the worst part: The rest of the safe is very sturdy and the steel is very thick so it's not exactly the easiest safe to break into.So now I just called a locksmith and am going to pay him $75 to open a $35 safe to retrieve my $500 gun and my passport. Needless to say this was a bad deal. Shouldn't have went cheap on a safe.
