Good but lackluster 8-inch tablet
Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of good options for a good 8-inch tablet if you're looking at Android. Huawei actually made a powerful one, but it's banned now, plus you can't update it anymore. This one finally bumps the screen resolution to 1920x1200 which makes reading Japanese text a lot easier. Speedwise, the tablet is pretty slow but acceptable. Apps take a couple of seconds or more to launch which slows you down a bit. The really killer is the 32GB of storage. I knew that going in, but it almost cripples this tablet. You will have to make a lot of choices about which apps to keep and which to uninstall. I moved as many as I could to the SD card, and I'm hovering at about 3 GB free. I don't game much so it's not games using that space. I'd really rate this about 3.5 stars. Hopefully, Samsung will come out with a 64 GB version which would be much more usable. 11-inch tablets get all the attention and performance these days.

Frustrated
Purchased in Nov 2020. About a month ago I got a pop up message TV mode not responding - I have never used TV mode app. Tried closing app. Doesn't help. Pops up every 10 seconds. Tried every fix solution I could find. No success. I am beyond po'd. I am now using an older kindle fire I have that is very slow to charge. I like a bigger screen for viewing so don't want to use my phone all the time.

Excellent - ATT Sim card set-up and functioning in five minutes
Exactly what I expected. Set-up and functioning with ATT Sim card in 5 minutes or less. My tablet shipped in an ATT box with a Sim card. I went to the ATT store to get a new Sim card and set-up assistance. The ATT person who did the set-up could have done it with his eyes closed. Honestly, I think I was in the store less than 5 minutes. This tablet DOES operate with ATT Sim card.

Great for kids
I bought this tablet for my 3 year old so she could have something for "on the go." I don't know why some reviewers are saying that it doesn't update to Android 10, because the one I bought did and includes dark mode. I use the AT&T unlimited tablet plan with tablet(it's only $20). It basically stays in the Samsung kids mode so she can't mess with anything that I don't allow in the app. Overall, I'd say this is a great tablet for kids.
