Not very tough, my pomeranian had a fin chewed off within the first 5 minutes. Then she chewed the other fin off. Chewed through the stitching on the tail. She destroyed other toys so we went for tuffy. We had two other tuffy toys which lived up to advertising so we thought we found the toys she can't destroy. The fish fell short. We will still buy tuffy but not with things sticking off the body. Her first 2 tuffy's are hanging in there. Soft plush toys don't stand a chance. Lol

I'm a HUGE fan of Tuffy brand toys, and so are my dogs! I got this adorable fishy for my medium sized mutt. She usually destroys toys pretty quickly, but not Tuffy Toys! I got her the small red ring over 6 months ago and it's still in perfect condition! So when shopping for toys for her I always check these out first! The fish is adorable, I'd recommend it for any small, or medium sized dog, It's about 7 or so inches long and feels very thick and sturdy. She absolutely loves it! I also think their toys are much cuter than others that are in the same price range, they're definitely a heck of a lot stronger! I'll definitely be back for more (I don't spoil my dogs at all lol)!

Well, at first glance the toy sounds indestructible! When it arrived the quality and durability matched the description, however 45 minutes later my dog found all the weak points, all that remained was the carcus (picture shown) of my hopes and dreams for finding a "plush" toy which would hold up to the monster that is my dog. I would recommend this toy if your dog enjoys cuddling with soft sea creatures. To be fair, my dog tends to find all toys weak points... He should be a toy tester.

My dog is obsessed with this fish. He has had it for about a month and its still intact besides a few strings he has managed to pull on. It has a small fin on either side and normally dog chews little things like that off his toys first and then pukes it up later. I considered cutting them off when it first got here but decided to just keep a close eye on it. He chews on the fins like crazy and they are still attached! So far so good.

Well, I was hoping this would be TUFF, but it tore at the fin on the first day. I work in the textile business - the tear was caused because the toy was overstuffed to the point of seam breakage and fabric bursting. The additional pressure of a dog biting cause it the bursting strength to give out. It was so overstuffed, that I couldn't find the squeaker until a pulled all the stuffing out to prevent my dog from eating it. This is now a deflated tuffy toy. I will likely buy this brand again, but I will stay away from anything with too man appendages.

My Anatolian Shepherd absolutely loves his fish. This is his 3rd one in 2 years which is amazing that they last months before he puts a hole in them. I have gotten him the shark and alligator before but he only likes the fish. He carries it EVERYWHERE.

This has held up very well for our “toy destroyer” terrier. He loves to play fetch with it and it’s size let’s us do so from the couch. It’s the first thing he heads for when he gets up or gets home. I’m gonna need a spare!

My 80lb boxer loves this toy. It looked a little small when I got it but It is the large size and it works. He doesn’t tear apart tuffy toys as he will tear apart any other stuffed toy. He’s 8 yrs old so doesn’t lead as a destructive life as he did when he was a puppy. He will still eat sandals and box corners if we leave them around and leave him alone too long.

This was toy fish was bought as a gift for our Jack Russell who loves to play tug and has been known to destroy a toy, seconds after receiving them. Whilst this has not yet been played with as a christmas present, it does seem like a well constructed toy which should last months, rather than days! The size is also perfect for a small terrier who likes to parade around showing off his toys!

So a 7 on the tuffy scale is nowhere near strong enough for a setter, esp an excitable one, 5 mins playing & the front row of teeth went straight through to the white stuff. Great idea just fails in practice, which is a shame as strong toys for big and/or powerful dogs are seriously lacking.

My German shepherd looked into into its eyes and went for it. It was a wedding and a murder at the same time. However, when she has something else she won't go back to it. Despite that, it's great! ( But get a large one if your dog destroys toys in a matter of minutes.)

tough little toy has lasted well and my dog now 18months still plays with it.

As pretty as it was, it lasted 10 minutes before being completed shredded
