High or Low water alarm

This is my first review On Amazon but I think it’s worth the second to post. My basement had flooded due to my pump getting clogged up, so I found this alarm on here and thought it looked like just what I was looking for, recently this alarm saved my basement from flooding again due to pump failure, works as advertised and would recommend for anyone looking for a high water level pump alarm, easy to install less then 10 mins for me, plugs right into wall outlet and has a battery backup in case of power outage, loud enough to hear throughout your house and very reasonably priced compared to other hard wired pump alarms out there. Worth the money in my opinion.

Can't beet the price. The box is a little cheap but what do you expect for the price. Works like it is suppose to.

The float switch on my sump pump went bad... And next thing I know my finished basement is getting a very expensive tear out. The first thing I did was order a replacement switch. The second was buy this little guy. It is easy to install and is very loud. It can be heard from the second floor of my house all the way from the basement. It does have a silence switch which is a very nice feature, and of course a battery backup. I will never make that mistake again

Having a Sump Pump, it is important to make sure it's working if you start to get any excess water in your basement. We found out the hard way what happens if a pump fails. That's when we decided we would no longer play the game of chance. We replaced our pump, and also bought this alarm. We have it set up just above the normal waterline for our sump pump, and if the water goes above that point it sets off a HIGH pitched alarm - that you're sure to not miss.

I love the concept of this all-in-one kit which can be wired for either high alarm or low alarm, HOWEVER mine didn't work correctly. I tested it prior to installation because I didn't want to put it in my sewage sump and then realize I have to get tainted again removing it if it doesn't work. Well, it didn't quite work right during my test. Even though it came wired for high alarm, it was alarming on both high and low. The low alarm wire wasn't even connected so it shouldn't have acted like this. I'm thinking the float has some kind of design or manufacturing flaw. It never alarmed when I can hear the ball or shuttle inside in the middle position but when it hit the high or low it alarmed on both. I ended up returning it because I don't trust it and that is its main purpose.

Unit is well built and solid. I have a water cistern with a solar pump - I did not want to use a float valve switch on the pump as it would require a controller and I didnt want that extra piece of electronics in my system. However I wanted to know when it was full and this switch does the trick nicely - it goes off when the tank is full (or can easily be wired to go off when it drops) and then i just switch the solar pump off - I had occasion to speak with the designer/vendor and he was very nice.

Set the unit for a low water alarm and paid for itself in the first week. Good tone volume for the alarm and can be heard very easily. To convert from a high water to low water alarm was easy as changing the position of 1 wire. Its also nice that it has a battery backup in case of a power failure but it my application, doubt that it would every be needed. Overall very happy and pleased with this unit!
