This head is powered and it works really well. It’s definitely worth the cost. Being smaller than the main head makes it easier to use on the stairs. It picks up pet hair off the furniture really well too.

I've just received this, ahead of anticipated delivery date, and WOW! When I bought my IZ251 a few months ago was disappointed that it didn't come with a 'stairs' tool. This has solved that problem!Went ahead and did the stairs to try it out (not going to divulge how much it picked up). We do have a dog so pet hair is always an issue, but I would recommend this even if you don't have a pet. It's ideal to get into hard to reach areas where the large footplate doesn't fit, but you still have the powered head for good suction. Only thing I would note, is that the description says it features a motorised bristle brush. This is not the case, it has rotating rubberised strips, but still seems to do the job.

This battery hoover is very powerful and easy to use. Ease of emptying and gets under most cupboards because it goes so low. Folds over in half for ease of storage and the suction is controllable for different surfaces.

I have two long haired cats, mainecoon and a ragdoll. I purchased the shark IZ252 to vacuum their hair off the floor and carpets. Like many have echoed this should have come with the vacuum but didn't. Like the main head, yes it removes hair well but still leaves a noticeable amount of hair on carpets if you look close. It's not a deep cleaner nor will it magically remove all the hair from the stair. To do so it takes time and multiple runs. Also on the first few time of use the roll completely wrapped up in hair and I couldnt suck anything in.Basically dies it makes cleaning stairs easier? - yes. But will you be amazed? - No. It works, but not a one brush all hair removed. You'll need to vacuum the step a few times to get most of the hair.Save money and buy those metal lint removers, now those do a good job removing hair from the stair. But it's more physically demanding.

I have three separate hoovers in this house in an attempt to find just one that can hoover stairs, and when the Shark proved useless at them I tried this 'pet hair' helper. It does not remove pet hair. It doesn't even pick up grit. It's nice and small and light and maneuverable all right, but you run it repeatedly over the carpet and then give up and pick up the bits and hairs with your fingers. The shark does not really have the suction power to be useful on anything at all other than a hard floor. Save your money, get a stiff brush and do it by hand.
