Creative fun way to give money, compartment is deep
I bought 2 of these for my niece and nephew's first communion money gifts. I was looking for a nice way to give them money, after all they are kids and at least I want them to have some excitement with the gift. Material is pretty decent colors are nice and the compartment for money goes to the bottom of cube, is wide enough to put dollar bills rolled, not for a gift card though. Regarding how challenging maze could be, let's put this on the right perspective, for kids and young adults I would say they solve it in matters of minutes, no more than half hour (at least for what I observed with my family members), for me particularly (in my 40's) it took me oround an hour, at end I had to "cheat" solving maze with a sharpy (I would say being creative is not cheating ;-) ) then guide the ball thru the marked line to open the box when I was testing it, then I cleaned the sharpy with alcohol, no damage to cube. This does not mean that you have to spend time solving maze to simply put money on it for your gift. Initially they are set up to have the little ball close to the latch so you can open cube easily, be warned though, once you close it, you have to resolve the maze to open it again. Bottom line this was fun, a good piece of conversation, and kids can use it later on as a small piggy bank.

Grandchildren Had Fun Trying to Solve the Money Puzzle.
Like to Thank Amazon for delivering these on Christmas Eve. I bought 2 of these 1 pink and one 1 blue, for 2 of my teenage grandchildren who only wanted a money gift for Christmas. I wanted them to work a little bit to earn their Christmas money gift. So when I received them Christmas Eve, I also had to solve the puzzle to get them to open to put my grandchildren's money gift inside. 1st one took about 20 min, the 2nd one took about 2 hours to solve the puzzle in order to get it to open. Just about when Grandma was about to give up, the 2nd one top finally pop opened and I was able to put the money inside. Gave them to my 2 teenage grandchildren this morning. I did give them both a hint on how to get them to open. Granddaughter was able to open it within a 1/2 hour and get the cash. My grandson struggled for about 1 hour to get his opened. He kept saying to me it not's working, So I told him to give it to me, because I am now experienced at finding the way to open them doing the puzzle. After 3 minutes after him giving it to me, I was able to solve the puzzle and the top pop open. My grandson was very impressed. So Grandma was the hero today. This is a fun and entertaining gift for young and old, if you are planning on giving a money gift.

Important Point Below
This is an excellent maze/puzzle toy. Takes maybe ten minutes to solve, and then the kid gets the treat that's hidden inside. Here's my point. You open the box by navigating a ball bearing/marble to a slide. Putting the ball in the slide allows you to slide the slide, which opens the top of the box. So far so good. Once you put the top back on the ball automatically pops out at the beginning of the maze and so you have to solve the entire puzzle in order to open the box again. When the box arrives the ball is right where it needs to be to open the puzzle. Naturally, you open the box to see inside. Do not close it without putting the gift/surprise in or you will have to solve the entire maze in order to get it open again. That's fine if you're in the mood, but not fine if you're in a hurry. But anyway, a cool and well made puzzle.

Fun puzzle
Exactly what I expected. Frustrating until I caught on to the method to solve. Fun toy for the grandsons to find the latest item I have hidden for them. Good for a geocache final puzzle. Probably more uses I will find later.Seems to be durable, but some time with the grandsons ages 8 and 11 will reveal how durable it is.

good product with a design flaw
the yellow is very pleasing to the eye and the mechanism itself is easy and rewarding to understand. however, because the ball inside is made of light plastic, it is prone to "stick" to the maze via static, so it makes it a bit difficult to balance on turns. that's what you get for a cheap product I guess, but making the ball heavier could really benefit the design

Best gag gift for SON IN LAW
Our son in law just wanted cash for Christmas to use against a much larger purchase. But I hate just giving Money in a card, so I bought this instead. He is just too smart because it did not take him any time at all to get to his cash but all his family thought it was the best. And now he can use this again for someone else.
