Q: Is the width of the bun once on really 4in or less? I'm in the military and 4in is the maximum width I'm allowed in uniform.

I maintained the bun in a compact 3 to 3.5 inches for my granddaughter's use in a recital with a fine hairnet and this worked very well. Wrapping and securing with bobbi pins would likely have the same result for people who don't want to use a hairnet..

Q: How would you describe the color 2/33?

I would say dark brown--no exceptional over tones.

Q: How does this stay on your head?

It has two combs and then there is also a drawstring two tighten it. My daughter has short hair and I made a tiny ponytail and put this over it (tucking the ponytail into it). It worked great!
