Amazing, how could anyone not love this product!
It deserves a 5 star in my opinion, this is my second time buying this same exact item. Mine came in a box that showed link and Sheik on the cover with rapping inside that box too. The entire package came in a box filled with protection items. Mine looks perfect with a strong neck strap and a carrying case. It also sounds beautiful with a perfectly centered tri-force sign. This is also a remake of the first kind of Ocarina, this type is made to be longer, smoother and easier to play with the "Accidentals" (which are sharps and flats) to be easier to play due to that the middle finger is the longest finger and should be able to stretch across to the sharps/flats. I, as a musician and conductor, see no flaws on my Ocarina and the "wind pipe"/ air exit, is supposed to be thin so it can make the glorious sound it does. I have also taken personal Ocarina lessons, have different non-Zelda Ocarinas and FYI, Ocarinas were firstly made in South America and made in very small sizes with only 3-6 holes on each one, mostly made of bones and rocks. I also play the Piano, trumpet and guitar, which proves good musician skills. Though I do hope I can get it in a different color in the future.

5 stars
I had bought this ocarina for my husband in 2014 and even still today it still plays and looks like I bought it yesterday. It is a great gift and is definitely worth the money.

Overall, incredibly pleased.
I was very pleased when I got this earlier than I expected. The box it came in was beautiful; I absolutely adore the picture of Link and Sheik on the top, and it was well protected. I shouldn't have been, really, but I was surprised when a string came along with a short pamphlet on fingerings and short tunes was included. The ocarina itself is smooth, well polished, and very satisfactory. It is incredibly easy to learn; later that day I had memorized most of the fingerings to sheet music for a favorite song of mine, never mind that I had never looked up how to play it or knew how to play tabs. I instead used the ocarina sheet music and dove right in, and it hasn't let me down yet. All in all, I don't agree with the negative reviews. I highly recommend it.

Nice little woodwind - reminds me of a Recorder when I was a kid
I got this for my daughter for Christmas, which was one of her requests. I've never heard of this instrument and later found out it became popular due to the Legend of Zelda video games, which she plays. I hear her practicing playing simple songs like "Mary had a little lamb"' etc. - stuff I used to play on a Recorder when I was a kid. It kind of sounds like one too - but it's been a long time since I've played one, so don't hold me to it. The Ocarina seems very simple to play, and it's an inexpensive little item that keeps my daughter away from texting, surfing the net, and playing video games for periods of time - which is good.

With the poor ratings I saw before
With the poor ratings I saw before, I was a little wary about purchasing this Ocarina. When I got it, I was pleasantly surprised. It sounds great, although the higher notes are harder to hit ,with clarity, unless you use a bit of tongue on the front of the note. I had watched the video review and decided to check the tuning on my ocarina. I found that a slight change in embouchure can change the pitch to make it fall flat or sharp. In all, this a fine piece to play and I would recommend it to all beginners. If however you are looking for a greater range and are willing to pay more for it, I would suggest buying a 16 hole Ocarina instead.

Good As A Replica, Not So Good As An Instrument
This arrived on time and looks exactly like the photos. It does make flute like sounds, but even when covering the holes completely, the sounds are wispy sounding and there isn't much difference in the notes, no matter what holes are covered and uncovered. Overall it works well as a replica to be looked at, but it's not something that would work as an actual instrument. Fortunately this is a gift for my son to complete his Link costume, so I don't think he really intended to learn to play it as a legitimate instrument.

Pretty good actually
Pretty good actually. It sounds pretty good, I've learned already the song of time. The only flaws are that it has a very little yet noticable chip on one of the holes, there's a little stain, and the packaging was not good (the box it came in looked like a cat had a battle with it) other than that, good product!

Disappointed and returning it for a refund
This looked so promising. It was pretty and shiny and Zelda, since Zelda was what made me want to play Ocarina at all. I also had a small plastic toy ocarina once and I enjoyed playing it quite a bit, so I was excited to re-learn (or really learn it properly for the first time).First thing I noticed is the 'shiny' instrument wasn't so shiny. It has scratches and the 'metal' part around the mouth piece is dull with no shine at all. Then I began to play and nothing sounded like the intro tutorial videos I found on youtube of how to play the ocarina. I spent time on it and the more time I spent, the better it sounded, but the high notes were still awful to hear and hitting the same note as someone on a video sounded completely different no matter what I did. I did more research and I found very few people had a good word to say about this other than it was cheap and it looked pretty.Needless to say, as a beginner who wants to learn properly and loves Zelda, I was disappointed that it was neither as pretty in look or sound as I expected. I will be getting a Focalink plastic Ocarina from Songbird and hoping for a better experience.

Wasn't quite as nice sounding as I had hoped
Wasn't quite as nice sounding as I had hoped, but still pretty awesome. For the price, can't go wrong. Still looks awesome, although I have a feeling the holes made for the string may e affecting the sound a little. However there is another one on here for 85 dollars that might be a bit better quality as far as sound goes. Looks nice though, decent size and has some weight to it so it'll do for the price.

Beautiful
This is a beautiful Ocarina, the sound isn't perfect but it does play. The blue cardboard box it comes in quite nice, it has a picture of the ocarina as well as Link and Shiek, but it isn't incredibly fancy, if that's at your expecting, But it is a nice box. It included a Chart to play the classic childhood melodies such as Mary had a little lamb and came with a Chart to explain how to hold the Ocarina, also string so I can wear the ocarina around my neck. So this is a wonderful product and I'm so happy it came in!

I'm a huge zelda fan and love this ocarina
I'm a huge zelda fan and love this ocarina, it is beautifully made and fun to play, or nice to have on display. However, if you are wanting to play take note that quite a few notes are slightly out of tune and don't really sound like they should, but you can't expect perfection being the price that it is

Great buy!
Purchased two of these for my daughters for Christmas. They both loved them! they are not professional instruments by any means but they are a great novelty for any Zelda fan. Recommend buying a song book as well and you just might recognize some tunes.
