El Guapo Bitters Creole Orgeat Syrup Made with Pecans Instead of Almonds and Pure Luisianna Cane Sugar - Perfect Addition to Milk Punch or Eggnog - Excellent Almond Syrup Substitute (8.5 oz)

In my opinion this is one the best syrups to make an old fashion with. I have used with bourbon, blended whiskey and mash whiskey. All were perfect and even better when you use El Guapo’s chickory bitters.

No cocktail in our house is safe!! I’m putting orgeat in everything!

This is my favorite orgeat variation. The pecans really add a special flavor that is rich and delicious.

Makes a nice twist on a traditional Mai Tai.

Honestly was excited to try this, as I’ve had many different regular orgeats and even make my own macadamia nut orgeat, but I was really let down with the flavor. Maybe pecans just don’t have much flavor but this tastes like if simple syrup was made next to pecans and never included. There’s a very slight nutty flavor but that’s about it. It’s also on the thin side so if someone is looking for that orgeat mouthfeel look elsewhere. In old fashioneds any whiskey will overpower this and in Mai tais this gets almost completely lost. Also, the bottle is sealed in red wax, which flakes off pretty heavily and almost went back into the bottle after the cap is removed.

I had received a large bottle of this previously for A gift and was told the price. It was far less expensive. I thought I was receiving a large bottle this time too.
