Saved me a fortune in saving worn threads on parts.

I used them on an aluminium cylinder head, it drilled and tapped effortlessly, punched the tang off.I had a problem though, my bolts threaded into the coils well but they felt like they bottomed out and wouldn't go beyond the depth of the coil. I didn't want to force them so I cut my bolts down to match, they torqued to 10Nm and worked alright anyway.If I was doing it again I'd get some scrap to experiment on of first.

Really good kit, pulled the thread on cam plugs and this was super easy to use. Can be hard to thread the insert into the freshly tapped hole, also sometimes the bolt will thread into the insert easily and other times it’s has quite a bit of resistance which is disconcerting. Everyone I used it though I could torque the bolt right up to spec no problem. Very pleased, and much cheaper than helicoil

Take your time cutting threads.There is no Hand tool to turn the TAP (the bit that cuts the new thread), and you really want to do that part by hand if you possibly can. So use a hand drill to cut the thread with the tap or I used an Allan wrench and socket to turn it.Worked great.
