this gearbox is super nice. I needed a gearbox that would run super slow and steddy so I got two of these and was able to get the exact speed I wanted. it all went together quit well the assembly is simple almost lego like so it allows you to fit it to whatever you want to fit it to easily. To any hobbyist this is a vary good gear box to have lying around

puting it together can be a pain, instructions are ok but need to take it very very slow. also these tiny little tabs that you break off at the start you should really use clippers to make sure its removed smooth to the surface otherwise you may haver some issue like i did at first. But besides that once its all put toogether i noticed with 2 AA batteries as the power source it was able to pick up 6lb weight, i suppoted the other end of the shaft also with a wheel so the rod does not bend, pretty cool.

I didn’t resize how tiny this kit is. Lots of very small parts. I’m in the middle of reworking the kit for a specific small project I’m working on. It saved buying lots of parts individually. There are enough to experiment with. You need some basic gear technology if you are going to modify it. The motor is not real big and it’s easy to lock up the system if you over tighten the screws. It does have a list of ratios for each section and you can change it around if you understand planetary systems. You can simply purchase another kit and get many more parts pretty inexpensively.I’d consider this as an adult toy.. kids could maybe make a science project out of it with some guidance. I hav vision issues so I have to use my lighted magnifying glass an my new forceps to assemble it or modify it but I’m ok with that. It’s probably not strong enough to operate anything requiring lots of torque. Staged planetary systems can create massive torque for their size but this kit is tiny. So don’t expect too much of it.
