It worked but the ball that holds the valve clamp on the end of the threaded shaft fell out immediately and broke 💔

Worked as it was intended, good for small engines & light automotive. Not sure how well it would work for heavy duty valves.

We tried to use this to change the springs on some 5.3l 799 heads, It would bend the "C" clamp and not compress the spring. We had to weld a piece of steel across the hollow tubing to make it strong enough to work correctly. But what did I expect for $17...

They make a few tools that can make the job go a little quicker. For a weekend warrior like me trying to fix his own car this was perfect. Got the job done and did not break the bank!

Worked great

SO I purchased this tool to do a valve job on my early V-8 289 heads. Nothing special and only standard spring pressure. Upon trying to set it up, I discovered that the plungers did not fit over the valve spring caps so it pushed off center and slid all over the place not to mention it started to disform and spread the "C" shaped frame bar. It would probably work ok on a "SMALL" engine but not a good choice for a V-8 valve job. Save your money to purchase a real tool.

the different size cups and threaded rods make it very universal and at a great price.
