Penn Plax Add-A-Stone Air Pump Accessories, 10-Inch by 2-Inch

I purchased 4 of these air stones and connected them in tandem across the bottom back of my 75 gallon reef aquarium. They provide a wall of tiny bubbles all across the back providing much aeration and also beauty. Perhaps some of the reviewers didn't install them correctly. They need to be soaked in water before use and they need to be positioned horizontally or the bubbles will rise from the highest end. These worked the way I expected and wanted them to so I'm satisfied.

I put it in the tank and it didn’t work the way it should looked like the described but didn’t work.

This works well, although I will say my pump didn't! This stone put out maybe 2 streams of bubbles! So I bought a better pump and tried this product again. MUCH better. I got a pump rated for a 55G tank instead of my 10G pump. I will say that I get an even stream of bubbles now although I wouldn't say they are super fine bubbles. They aren't as many/small as the picture, but it still looks nice.I will say I tried to connect this to another stone and it didn't work. Again, I think I should have gone up to a 100G pump to connect two and have them work, but in reality, they didn't connect together well so I'm not sure if it would have really worked in the end anyway.

I attached hose to each end of the aerator. A beautiful full wall of bubbles, looks great.

Even with my XL heavy duty high output air pump this piece of junk just lets bubbles out the side of the plastic by the bubble stone. Completely disappointed as my pump has plenty of power this should have looked great, but nope poor quality junk. Will NEVER be purchasing this companies products again. If I had time I would return it. Too much of a hassle so I guess in the trash it goes along with the money I spent. DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT! Broken from the get go, looked fine but doesn't work right even with a high output air pump.

I bought this only to be a temporary/back up airstone until the one I want is back in stock. It's not awful, but it's not great either. The bubble output is fairly low even with my Hydrofarm 60gal pump running on full blast. The bubbles all form in pillars about an inch or two from each other, it's strange and in no way forms the curtain like in the picture. I have it in a 29 gal aquarium, I would say it would be best suited for a smaller tank like 5 or 10 gal with the low bubble output it creates. The part where the tubing connects is very small (where other brands can be nice and tight fitting) as well and allowed a lot of water to get into my airline when I did a test run. You WILL need a check valve if you plan to buy this! It hides perfectly under gravel and still operates perfectly being buried. Later I filled my tank with sand instead of gravel and this blew my sand all over the place which got sucked into my filter where it caused my motor to screech permanently. Even if the strip is above the sand it'll blow it around. Don't bother with this if you have sand substrate.

It works exactly as it should. I have mine buried under a couple inches of coarse sand and powered by a Hygger 5W adjustable air pump (set rather low). The entire stone bubbles well. There is one very minor dead spot, but that could likely be the way my substrate is sitting on top of the stone. Cheap, effective, no regrets.

I was concerned about buying this given all the negative reviews I saw saying that the air only came out of one or both ends, but not in the middle. Given the price, I decided to take a chance and am glad I did. I get a completely even curtain of air across the entire strip. I soaked it before using it like many reviews suggested, but honestly, I only did that for 15-20 minutes, and the air flow was indeed uneven for the first few days. However, the issue completely resolved on its own, and I've got an awesome curtain of air now!

Bought this for my son’s first aquarium. It works very well, but you must use a strong air pump (not a cheap one) if you want to create an authentic bubble wall.Make sure you soak the stone in water prior to set up. You can lightly press your fingers onto the stone to ensure the water is penetrating. You can verify this when you see the stone darken from pressing your finger tips on the stone in submerged water.Sits well in gravel and works exactly as stated.

Very poor flow of bubbles manly at one end. Have soaked it in water as advised, cleaned it in various solutions that have been suggested,blown it dry with air pump left it to dry naturally. Still no better,air bubbles at opposite end to inlet, very poor air flow at inlet end. Much better flow from cheap airstones. Complete waste of money Do not buy.

Excelente, funciona muy bien

I've purchased 2 of these - they are a great addition to a tank. Take awhile to get the bubbles going but once they do it's great. Takes about a month to get the stone bubbling at full strength.
