This thing packs a punch. I got the size 2 and it has a great feel to it. The dead blow really hits good and the handle feels great. Everything feels balanced and this is a delight to swing. Great for more delicate work that still needs a little extra umph.

Its a hammer with a slidy thing inside of it. It feels kinda weird. I guess the many years of using deadblows with steel dust or steel balls in them set my mind to how a dead blow should feel. Ive had a difficult time getting used to how this hammer feels with the sliding mechanism inside of it. I find myself reaching for my old traditional dead blows more often than I reach for this one. I bought this hammer because of the name. Im a bit of a pb swiss collector. Im not sure about this though. I have no doubt this is a good hammer. Ive never seen a single product from pb swiss that wasnt top notch. With this hammer, I feel like they tried to reinvent the wheel and it just doesnt feel right to me. But as always with pb swiss, the fit and finish are perfect.

I picked up this mallet as an alternative to a claw hammer, and so far I’m satisfied. It hits harder than a claw hammer of similar weight. The main reason I bought it however were three-fold: 1. A bigger, flatter head to avoid hitting my hands occasionally while chiseling - especially during demo. 2. A more functional secondary head instead of a claw, which I never use on a typical hammer and instead use more purpose-built pry bars and 3. Wanted a PB Swiss tool. I had seen videos on their legendary build quality and wanted to own one.One issue I’ve run into so far that’s different from other hammers than others may want to be aware of is the sharper corners on the striking surface. I developed a habit over time of setting nails most of the way first with your standard finishing hammer head which has a curved face. The PB Swiss hammer is much more square and it’s easier to ding your finished surface by accident if your strike is slightly out of plum. Not a problem with the hammer, just a change of style.

I love this hammer so far. I’ve used it for a couple months now as a carpentry finish hammer. It sets nails beautifully and cuts down on the chances for deflection when using a nail set, which can cause you to hit your hands or the work piece. It’s also nice for beating sheet rock for trim because of its sharper mallet head. The soft plastic side is handy for more delicate tasks like tapping a piece of kickspace moulding under a cabinet, or tapping a little nail crater flat from a nail gun.I really like this tool so far and I look forward to using it

It seems to be sitting in Amazon's warehouse for very long, and the steel part is rusted. After sanding and polishing it myself it is now good as new. The hammer itself is good quality otherwise.

No one needs a dead blow hammer this good. Superb quality. So good you almost hate to use it. Very effective dead blow action by using a series of metal disks inside. Love it but it is also a work of art. Is that possible for a hammer?

Super quality worth the money

A bit on the pricey side but one look and feel and it becomes clear that this isn't some cheap MIC paperweight. If you are someone who goes out of their way to seek quality tools, you will not be dissapointed. Otherwise, something from Walmart or Harbour Freight might be more economical.

金属ヘッド側で、地金(プラチナ角棒)を打って見ましたが数回の叩きでベッドに打痕が付きました。鑢・その他諸々は40年、スイス・バローベを愛用していますが、試しにどんなハンマーか注文しましたが残念な結果でした。自分で槌の当たる面はいつも鏡面仕上げで手入れをし、金床も常に鏡面です日本製の焼き入れ高度の高い物には叶いませね、PBはただの「おもちゃ」でミーハーの「お飾り」と言う事が理解できました。とても本職の使う道具＝手にはなりません。

本来の用途とは違う気もしますが、ペグ打ち用に使っています。今までは真鍮ヘッドのペグ打ち用ハンマーを使っていましたが、真鍮でも大して反動や打音が緩和されない、ヘッドの損耗は激しい、という事でヘッドの交換が可能で無反動の本品を試してみました。結果、大満足です。40㎝のソリッドペグがするすると刺さっていき、石に当たっても容易に打ち砕け、手首は痛くなりません。夜間のペグ打ち時にはナイロンヘッドの方を使うのですが丸頭では打ちにくい為、平頭のものに交換しました。ただ、ヘッドの篏合部がきつ過ぎるのか、プライヤーを使ってもバイスを使っても全く外れません。結局、はんだごてを使って半分に焼き切り、ようやく外すことが出来ました。価格がちょいとお高いのと、ヘッドの交換がし辛い点で☆マイナス１です。

通常のコンビハンマーと比べて、反動が少なく打撃が強いのでとても作業が快適です。特に狭い空間でも打撃力を得やすく「おつり」で他所を叩いてしまうことがぐっと減って助かります。同重量の鋼球式無反動ハンマーと比べてヘッドが小さいのも狭い場所での取り回しの点で良いです。少々高価なのが難点。注意点としてはスチール側のヘッドも芯はナイロンで、銀歯のようにスチールキャップをかぶせたタイプです。替ヘッド300Cで交換用のスチールヘッドも売っているので、プラ側と同じくヘタったら交換できます。とはいえ自分の作業内容では十二分に頑丈で、同時に買った交換用スチールヘッドの出番は無さそうです。

ショックドライバー用に買いました。他にもエンジンヘッドはがしやベアリング挿入に使う予定です。自動車整備であれば、3番の購入で大抵は問題ないと思います。4番も所持していますが、3番以上に関しては他社製の無骨なハンマーのが向いていると感じます。ニスの仕上げ、ハンマートーンの塗装ともに丁寧な作りで、修理部品の入手も容易です。ほぼ半永久的な耐久性の道具だと思います。絶妙な太さのグリップは力加減の調整に最適です。反動軽減もしっかりと役割を果たしていて、正確に衝撃を加える事が可能です。一つ難点があるとすれば、スチール部の削り出しが甘く、シミや切削痕が残っています。直ぐに馴染んで気にならないレベルではありますが、気にする方は店頭で現物を見て購入することをお勧めします。ハンマー＝野蛮な道具、という印象を覆す美しい道具だと思います。
