SCA-303 Protein Skimmer, 150 Gallon

So far so good with this skimmer. No instructions on how to set it up, but looking at the picture on the box makes it a bit easier. Not too complicated. Starting pulling skimmate within a day or so. I've got this on my 80 gallon reef. Given the price point relative to other similarly powered skimmers, this appears to be a great value

24 hr review....1st - I got next day shipping for standard shipping. I guess on of the benefits of living 40 mins from the warehouse. So that was awesome.2nd- quality and bubble production seens to be decent overall. The price point it exceeded my expectations.3rd- it does give off a hum that could be heard in the same room if no other house hold appliances are on. I will admit that I am very picky in this area as i dont like any noise coming from my tank. This is the reason for the 3 stars. I will say that it can be from the vibration from the contact points on the sump floor and skimmer housing and not the pump itself. I will put some sort of mat down to see if that helps or give it a week or 2 to see how it breaks in. I will update this review accordingly.Bottom line- if you dont want to spend $400 on a skimmer, get this one.

This skimmer is a workhorse. Setup was not too bad but you may have to google to be sure as the instructions are not great. However I’ve had the skimmer for about 3 months now and it’s doing its job wonderfully.

Very nice skimmer!!! Dials in with ease, easily cleaned. Pump seems a little noisey, but is not too bad. Will replace if it goes out with something quieter.

It arrived with a crack at the base where the "T" that controls the follow connects. Let's hope for a nice replacement process.

Waited four days to receive broken skimmer. Unit was cracked from production. Cracked from being drilled in the side of the tube where the air chamber tube installs into.

Does its job, but on the cheaper side quality-wise. Found it broken after pulling it out of its box. Had to fix it with superglue and silicone.
