Circe and The Song of Achilles By Madeline Miller 2 Books Collection Set

These were both excellent reads, and are both very popular among book readers. I had previously read both The Iliad and The Odyssey, so was curious about these modern takes. The writing was beautiful, and I liked how the author leaned in more on Achilles’ and Patroclus’ relationship.

Purchased because I was seeing so many people reading it. I was very interested in this view of mythological stories

It was a lovely journey into total fantasy, a different world than now.

I did not read the description but these are from an Indian publisher, I do have concerns on if there are any items that were removed due to censorship but these are still a great value

Madeline Miller is an incredible writer. Both of these books are incredible retellings of stories I thought I knew, but in ways that are now the truth to me. Beautiful and heart rending, evocative and empathetic. I read one and immediately gobbled up the other, I have recommended them to everyone I know who loves to read and been thanked. Cannot wait for her to write more.

So far I like the book. I’m almost halfway done reading it. :)

Two of my favorite books of all time and the only stories I’ve ever wanted to re-read

I’m so disappointed that I wasn’t more careful. I’m a nerd - I love my book covers and I almost always buy hardcover! I saw the photo and the $40 price tag and thought I was getting that book cover, hardbound. Two hardbound books was worth the price, but these mass produced paperback books not so much.
