Plano - 2-3730-05 23730-05 Prolatch Stowaway Deep with Adjustable Dividers

I’ve been using this Plano Stowaway Deep container to organize everything from fishing tackle to craft supplies, and it’s a game-changer. I’ve purchased about a dozen of these now. They’re great for sorting and storing things such as crimp terminals for wiring, nuts and bolts, USB sticks and storage cards for my computer, etc, etc.I just keep finding more uses for them.

This review is for the deep Stowaway. I know this is designed for fish and tackle gear. However I am using to store pony beads for salvation or gospel bracelets. Our church uses these when we have an opportunity to witness to the community, such as Kid’s day or the county fair. We need away to sore the beads, leather and booklets in between uses and away to get it to the events. This will be perfect for both.The boxes arrived on time and in perfect shape. I ordered 3 boxes, as I was not sure how many beads each box will hold. If you have this question, look at my pictures. Each box is divided into 4 horizontal sections 2 inches wide. The front row has 2 sections where the latches are which would not be as wide as 2 inches. There are also fewer slats for the dividers in the front row. Each boxes comes with 11 dividers, a set 6 attached to each other and a set of 5 attached to each other. There are 5 slots for dividers in each of the 2 back rows, but only 3 in the front, again because of the space the latches take up.I almost gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 because of the plastic dividers. They are a nuisance. Not only do they have to be cut from the strip of dividers but each side must be trimmed extremely close, even past the original line to get them fit smoothly in the slot. That being said, the slots cut fairly easily with household scissors, so no stars lost. And, once in place the dividers work well.Once I figured out how the slots worked, I was ready to organize my standard size pony beads and other items. I had approximately 1000 each of yellow, black, red, white, green and clear pony l beads I needed to organize, plus 500 gold, about 150 black hearts and 150 white hearts. Also need to store about 75 16-inch strips of leather to make the bracelets and the booklets to explain the bracelets. I have included pictures to show how I did that. All in all, I am very happy with the organizers. I would buy them again and I recommend them.

I always find myself needing a bit more storage and organization. I’m a big fan of Plano ProLatch Stowaway storage bins — especially the Plano ProLatch Stowaway 3700 series. I don’t use them for fishing, but for storage and organization of my miscellaneous odd and ends, hardware, office supplies and any other items I can find around the house that I like to keep safe and organized. I probably have more than 200 of the Plano ProLatch Stowaway 3700 storage bins in various styles. The 3700 series storage bins measure 14”L x 9.13”W, but depending on the style, the depths and number of dividers varies. This particular bin, Plano 23730-05 Deep ProLatch Stowaway with Adjustable Dividers, measures: 14”L x 9.13”W x 3.25”H. The Plano ProLatch Stowaway storage bins are extremely sturdy, easily stacked in multiples and the sides and covers are clear, so it is extremely easy to see what is inside of them without having to open anything up. Plano storage bins are an inexpensive way to organize your life! Just fill them up, and slide them on a shelf, in the closet, under the bed and even on a bookshelf. I also have a few of the ProLatch Stowaway XX-Large bins. The XX-Large storage bin is the largest size of this type storage bin that I have and is perfect for those things I don’t have room for, don’t fit in my go to 3700 series bins, but things I want to have access to. The XX-Large bins measure: 17” Long x 16”Wide x 5” Deep. They are a great fit for under the bed storage.

Mine arrived scruffed and dirty in one corner, and I have to force down the lid to get the latched to properly close. Other than that it looks sturdy and seems like it'll take a beating in my suitcase. I did not count the amount of dividers I got but it should fill at least 70% of the slots. I ended up giving it to a friend of mine who goes to more conventions than me and sells accessories that are 2"-2.5" tallI ordered the Creative Options 2-3730-82 Pro-Latch Deep Utility Organizer with 4 to 15 Adjustable Compartments, Large along with this and unless you're deeply offended by magenta clasps, there's absolutely no difference between these two 'Made in the USA' Plano boxes to justify spending another $2-3 for this version.
