Title says it all folks, I used to travel all over the US doing telecom work when one of my coworkers turned me onto this stuff while I was in Texas. It's the bees knees: Not too chunky (I HATE CHUNKY SALSA) and it has this almost smokey flavor along with the rich and boldness of whatever they put in this salsa.A quick warning about their heat levels from my experience:Mild (Green): Very very mild, if you have a sensitive pallet like my S.O. then this is the one for you. All the flavor, none of the spice. Great for cooking.Medium (Yellow): This is what i'd call the "middle of the road" heat. You eat it too fast and you'll start to feel it catching up to you, but for simple chips and salsa it's perfect.Hot (Red): All I can say about this is one thing: "vaya con dios". This stuff will BURN you, if you think you're tough then go ahead tough guy, you're insides will hate you later. I strongly STRONGLY advise giving the Medium a try if you wanna have it for the first time. Red is not for the faint of heart.

Living in Texas, chips and salsa are probably more common then bread and butter. We love our fresh salsa. Up until purchasing this Mateo's salsa, I have never found Salsa in a jar that could match our local restaurants. This stuff is just delicious. We go through it so fast that we always by the 32oz jars. It is hard to find good salsa in a jar. And, it's also very hard to find jars of salsa that are 32oz. This product solves both needs.

I bought this salsa to try because many people in an online cooking group of mine recommended it. It is smoky and not too sweet, but I prefer my salsa with a bit more vinegar. Overall, I really did like it and I’d be happy to buy it again. It reminds me of the medium salsa from Cantina Laredo.

We used to get this at Costco but now live over 300 miles away from one. I was happy to see Amazon carries it. We love it's garlicky, citrus, hints of smoke and overall bold taste. The consistency is small puréed and just the right thickness not chunky at all. Just the right kick! We are now spoiled and can't eat anything else!

It's good, don't get me wrong. It's better than most of the jarred salsas we've tried from the grocery store. Restaurant-good? Almost. All of the best restaurant salsa's these days are very cilantro-forward, and I've yet to find a jarred salsa or even a "fresh" deli salsa that has that element. It's a mystery, I dunno why they can't bottle that flavor. If you can buy a bottle at the restaurant, the flavor goes home with you, but the minute to try to buy it outside of a restaurant, it apparently becomes impossible. The pureed non-chunky texture of this salsa is spot-on, and THAT lines up with the best restaurant salsas. The big problem for me is the lack of detectable cilantro freshness. We'll eat it all - not sorry we bought it. But it wasn't the one I've been searching for, so the search continues....

I am a salsa fiend!!! I found this by accident at Costco once upon a time and fell in love! Needless to say Costco only sold it that one time. I searched high and low for it at other stores with little luck. Once I realized I could buy it on Amazon, I knew I was set!!! This is an awesome salsa!!!!!

This is the best jarred salsa. Tastes very fresh. Has a wonderful flavor. Several friends are now buying it as well. Price is higher than you can find in local stores.

If you haven’t tried Mateo’s salsa get yourself a jar. Best salsa you can buy! My local grocer stopped carrying it so I bought some here, the price is pretty ridiculous so I only buy it once in a while but once you try it you will find the price very palatable.
